Are people saving for something in particular for their pots? Or just to see what they can save?x

I have 2 pots. One that contains 20ps which i save every year to put towards a new camera. And the second i put anything other than 20ps in. This (as i already have £165 in it) will be split into two. Half for me to spend on Christmas presents for people and half for my mum to use as i think she struggled this year. We have a big family so even £20 each adds up to alot. She will moan at me but i'm slightly more stubborn than her so i should get my way :)

think my previous years have always ended up going toward debt :( but not this year :D

I have My lovely sealed terramundi that I pop my £10 pocket money in each month (this is just because I have nothing I want to buy and am hoping my mum will take me to blue water after christmas :o)

My Metal tin is anything an everything ive got in change which is going to be used as a deposit for a holiday in 2013 for me DH and the kids (:shhh: they dont know)

And depending on the news on thursday, I already have a big plastic jar some sweets came in all cellotaped up with a hole in the lid. If we get the right news I will start popping any 50p's I get into in instead of pot 2 toward DS's bus pass.

I have 2 pots/tins. The little one is for all change over 50p and any notes I manage to save or sometimes get from selling the odd thing! All other smaller change goes in my large sealed tin - will take ages to fill though! All will go towards Christmas presents as we have a lot of people to buy for. Any left over will go into my 'deposit for a house' fund :D

    Morning all!

I'm just trying to save full stop, samtoby. OH and I were both made redundant within 2 years of each other, OH only works 14 hours a week (can't find anything else and no overtime offered...he's 62 :( ) and I have had to take enforced retirement. Our income has dropped to a third of what it was 5 years ago and although we don't have a mortgage we only just manage to cover our bills plus a bit of spending money for OH. (We don't claim any benefits, by the way, other than my state pension) We do have a car...our bit of luxury :o and short UK holidays when we can manage it. Anything I save will be going into a savings account for a rainy day. This forum has cheered me up no end :) I love the banter and cameraderie!

    Have a brilliant day everyone!

It is so interesting to see what people to save for. I think I will keep doing this once I have my mortgage to put money away for Christmas. It is always so much, with the price of a nice toy for my DS or something for my Mum, it all amounts up. x
