Evening all. DH didn't even know it was V day today. We'd already planned a meal out with DGS cos of half term so that turned into our V day celebration. We haven't bought each other a card for years, we don't need to and we think it's all a rip off.
Only 8p in the pot today, 5p of which was Ald! kill.
Our meal was paid for out of our going out budget and whatever is left at the end of the month will be going in the pot.

Hugs to all and welcome to the newbies.

Many thanks for your very kind words, TheAllanCadenhead.

It's good to read through the ways in which you've all celebrated, or not so, today folks. So long as you've enjoyed the day whether you've acknowledged the V part or not is the most important thing.

Brilliant news of your £90 banked, Kerry, you've been dong really well!!! :D

Waffle as much as you wish, mumof3, it was all worth reading.;)

I have to agree with your quote on it, ModestyB, much like any other card!

Not keeping count as hubby's adding to the jar (almost daily!!) so in addition to my change, the jar's starting to feel nice and heavy. Not even having to prompt him to add coins so very happy :)Must remember to add the money from this month's council tax :)

Have decided that as we're buying Christmas presents throughout the year (one done already :) ), we'll put the cash to a pram/pushchair if we manage to get pregnant (fingers crossed) :)

Lots of smiley faces for this post :)

Sorry mlbarrett, didn't see your post properly yesterday.

Re the first quote - well done your Hubby!!!!

2nd/ Be sure to actually PAY your council tax won't you??

3rd/ All the very best with achieving your goal (so to speak!) though with all the :):):) one could almost be forgiven for wondering if it's already in the net!!!!!!! :j

    Curiously, Sue x

WOW Ruth!!!! Your Sis was a very lucky girl indeed. Lets hope she can train him in civvy street later on, the MSE way. :) All the very best for his safety and all other lads in Afghanistan!

Not to worry, Sammy. You've started off again and had some cash there at a time you needed it. All the best in saving from here on. :D

    Good for you, skilly!
Keep safe, healthy and happy all and don't worry about the little things in life, they aren't worth it!

Totally love this jakes mum-im exactly the same myself i love to see the horror on DH's face too, find it totally hilarious. But have to say he got me today-got up to find a lovely big bunch of flowers in a vase and card next to the kettle with my cereals and coffee all ready and waiting for me..............this is a definate first.

Ahh I was quite impressed with him, not only did he remember, he got me no card, no flowers, but bought me 2 bags of cadburys bites which were on special in c0-op :j:j:j Its like a competition as to who could find the cheapest gift :rotfl:.

Amazingly we both spent £3, but I still say I win as I got alot more for my £3 than he did :rotfl::rotfl:

I also splurged £7 on steak for our tea last night, so our valentines day cost the grand total of £13 :T:T

  • Hey honey,

So sorry about your pulled muscle. Put your feet up and relax ..... AND, don't be cross with yourself, comfort spending is occasionally necessary. I bet your new clothes look great on you. All in all, you are doing fantastic. I have half of what you have in my pot :D !!!

Sending loads of happy and healing vibes your way, :A

Thank you for this, I nearly cryed when I read it ( but the Prozac stopped me:() I find it sometimes quite cleansing to cry.
I dont feel like I'm doing fantastic but thank you for your kind word's. I can be very hard on myself and undoing being a perfectionist will take me some time. :A
