You guys arent going to believe this!

Therea a girl I work with opposite me. I was telling her about the pot for some reason I can't remember.

Basically she THROWS AWAY her change, like 1p 2p and 5ps. Like literally chucks it. In the bin.

I said if you don't want them I'll have them, seriously.

I now have a permanent source of roadkill

Shocking behaviour.:eek: Why would someone do that????

I probably spend more than some people would on some things, (Haircut - cant say how much) But to throw money away, literally....

Well after posting yesterday to say i wouldnt have anything to pot for the rest of the week, i have £2.50 to pot, change from my hair cut. Yay. :j

    Keeeeeeeeeeep potting everyone.

Nothing at all today as I didn't go out.

The tin is feeling quite heavy, estimate not quite a quarter full, It's a qualty street tin with the lid firmly gluded down. I have several more to be sacrificed, if needed, during the year and if I run out of tins I'll just have to buy another one and eat the contents first LOL

Considering the big Christmas tins come out in September when the kids go back to school, it's not as far away as we may think :rotfl::rotfl:

    In fact, 7 months

I'm feeling quite pleased this evening! I've just saved at least £30 off my pet insurance for next year using a comparison site :j and then had a quick look at my o2 phone tariff and noticed that the data bolt-on which I pay £10 a month for now costs £6 so I called them and got it changed, saving me £4 a month, it also has 20 picture messages included :j. I would pot the difference but my monthly outgoings keep going up and up so a few £s shaved off here and there had probably better go towards covering everything else getting more expensive . I can't wait until my contract is up so I can try haggling!

Wow janey it just shows what can be done if you try :) When my OH was first made redundant I shaved pounds off everything I possibly could ( insurance etc) and cancelled things we could do without (like some sky packages & mag subscriptions) to live within our means as much as possible. We never missed any of it.

How daft can you get. It was your lucky day, lashley! :rotfl:My two little grandchildren recently emptied their penny pot and banked £7 each :T i hope they never grow out of saving their pennies.

I think you would struggle to get notes out again unless you smashed it, samtoby, which seems a shame. My pot is a sealed tin and I would have to open it with a can opener to get them out. Being newly thrifty I hope to tease the coins out with a knife when the time comes, so I bank any notes instead (not that I get that many :))

I have a tin that needs to be opened with an opener. But was going to buy one of those pots as well for another saving pot. Thank you :)

    On a sad note.....

I dropped my iphone and smashed the screen..... :(
