Well, there have been some ups and downs of late... the pump on my hot water has broken. At first the plumber said it was going to mean a new pump at about £500 (which I could find, but that would empty the rainy-day/moving house fund), but it seems he can get a part for it at about half that, so here's hoping it works (I did open my pot while in a plumbing-induced finances panic, but I will do my utmost to forget how much was in there so I can pretend I didn't open it :A).
On the plus side, while sorting out the paperwork pile of death (while on leave because of the plumber coming over) I appear to have found an account from my childhood that has some money in it. Score. And I did get to watch some car-crash telly in the process so it can't be bad (some of the characters on Bridezillas are terrifying)!
Happy potting...Sealed pot challenger#1677

Hello Potters
..
Hope your OH is okay little sweetie, well done on the roadkill too :j..I hope your OH is OK little_sweetie. Hospitals are such miserable places and then you get a huge parking fee, it makes me mad! :mad: Our nearest big hospital doesn't even get much revenue from the parking which seems ridiculus.
It's odd isn't it ljaneyr? Someone's making a fortune from them. When our Grandad was dying from Cancer (and other ailments), there was at least three cars from our lot coming from different parts of the region and paying for the parking. That car park was nearly full, every day when we turned up ...They must have been making a mint from relatives and patients. I always thought it went, to the hospitals, but apparently not.
Anyway, a lovely, fantastic, golden coloured coin for the pot today. Housekill :rotfl:...There's some serious dancing going on here, you should be glad you can't see the pointy fingers coming out
.

Thanks, both of you for your kind thoughts. He's ok but he has to have cataracts removed from both eyes in the next few months and I'm more scared than he is I think  You're both right about the exhorbitant charges on hospital carparks. When my mum was in (and dying) my brother and I spent an absolute fortune on fees as we both visited twice a day. It seems to be ripping off people at a very vulnerable time, doesn't it.
On a happier note, last weekend father in law gave me a lottery ticket which I didn't check until today and I've won a tenner! :jso I treated OH to lunch and I'm potting the £1.36 change. Yes, I know i could have potted the whole tenner but he deserved a treat

The only reason I bank any notes and not pot them is that I won't be able to prise them out of my tin at the end and I want to try and save it for next time!
Marvellous strides going on in your mortgage fund! Well done! And i'm definitely jealous of your two stars :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #012

Payday tomorrow!!! and this week is the first week in a long long time where i have had money left over! Its not going into my pot but i will transfer it to the account where i save all my money
Going bowling tonight which i paid for in November through Groupon so it was cheap. Will be rushing home to eat so i shouldn't spend any money whilst i am there except maybe a drink but i have some spending money left over for that.
On a SPC note... Found 1p whilst tidying my room last nightAnd my OH found 24p whilst tidying the living room this morning so they are in my purse waiting to be potted along with my daily pound and change from food i had to buy at work. Anything left from the £20 in my purse by tomorrow evening will be potted too
Everyone seems to be some kind of poorly so get well soon everyone *hugs*Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4
