i potted a hefty £21.23 yesterday. £17 to catch up with my £1 a day which i will now do properly. 8p that my house mate didnt want from his change :j, 51p from one of my sisters "keep the change" 31p from anothers sisters "keep the change". The rest was change from my purse. Went to costco today and only bought myself meatballs (3.49 would be about £6 in the normal shops) and a bottle of wostershire sauce (4.49 for two 568ml bottles. HUGE bottles so gave one to my mummy lol) Very happy with myself. Oh and a lovely 20p for my 20p pot :)

I forgot to take a picture if my pot. I got home late then was so excited to pot all my pennies that it went out of my mind. I will set myself a reminder tonight :)

Going to get my shopping list written for the weekly shop tonight. I need to make sure i get stuff to make my lunch. The food at work is so bad and getting worse :(

  • I admire everyone who is keeping a regular count - I just chuck all mine in and don't count it till the end. Our change bottle was already well-established when I joined the challenge, hope that still counts and my £2 pot is also my sealed pot, so the two totals will be the same at the end (I'm keeping track of that one).

I keep finding pennies on the floor in our new house though - don't know if that's a good luck sign or anything. They'll be in the pot later.

£2.40 potted today. I would have usually spent it on lunch but took a packed lunch instead. Does that count?
Well done, of course it counts, everything that goes in your pot is a saving, imagine if you did that once or twice a week, you'd be looking at over a hundred pound saving over the year...... Keep up the good work xx

  • Hi All,

SamToby, I just aded my thanks, you're now officially over the 1000 mark!

Found another £1.05 lying around, have added to the pot to make it a princely sum of £2 saved! I have to start somewhere :T

Have also just bagged tickets from Victoria Station to Gatwick Airport for £4.50 on Southern (return the same). Am well pleased with the savings which will go into the pot, albeit after payday!

Still not got a pot. I tried freecycle but no replies. We're off to York this Sunday - Travelodge 2 nights for £25 - plus taking my sister-in-law, Ruth. She and I will look in lots of Charity shops while hubby looks in lots of old churches. Perhaps I'll get one there. I was thinking of papier mache but I'd have to buy balloons and I refuse to spend on them to save money. No money in my purse - so nothing to pot. Not going out of the house until Friday when Ruth is buying me lunch. :j

  • AILZ95 could you make your own and then pot whatever you saved from making it? I made one out of a quality street jar and pierced a hole in the top for the slot. I covered it with sellotape and black plastic bag...very mse!

Potted 67p today change from the shops. No roadkill despite looking...
