"Sealed Pot Challenge 5"

Evening all,

Have been neglecting the pot lately so have just dumped the contents of my purse in there to the tune of £4.77. Problem is I have to put it where the kids can't get their grubby little mits on it, but this then means I cant see it, so forget about it! Must try harder!!!

I've thought carefully about my sealed pot strategy and have come up with this: £2s to the £2 challenge, £1s and 50p's stay in my purse and anything less goes into the sealed pot. I've decided to use an empty Celebrations tub as my pot - fitting, as hopefully they'll be something to celebrate at the end!

So for this challenge, I've got a seperate pink piggy bank. I stick everything under 50p in there and just emptied it a few weeks ago, so it's ready to go, in the spirit of money saving i'm going to stick everything under a pound in there this time (keeping pound coins for in my purse! I'm a skint student after all...) :rotfl:

Just received £3 in 50p's for the Chicago & New York 2013 spending fund, plus £2 in 20p's going into the sealed pot when I get home from work later

Hi there, i would love to join the sealed pot challenge this year, it sounds fab. I'm not sure what to do though, is there a registration process, or do I just ask nicely : )))))))? Forgive me, i'm new to this site and not sure if i'm doin it right! Am looking forward to learning tho.

Just found this post, can I please join this challenge as I really need to do some saving this year, I already have a pot with 15p (well I only just found it and had that amount left in my purse!!). Not sure what my target would be but can I please start it off as £100

have put the contents of last years small change pot into my SP think it's at least £5, found a lucky penny today as well, my first road kill of the challenge
this is gonna be fun!

Sparky, since you seem to be very knowledgeable.... can you quickly tell me what the 'thanks' button is used for? Sounds daft, but I mean is it used as a 'cheers mate that's helpful'... or like 'read this!' kind of acknowldgement... iyswim?? Ta!! xx
