I started my sealed pot challenge and added my first bit of change. It was quite a fair bit as I emptied out my bag! I use it every day for work so loads of changed has piled up and now my bag is so much lighter! lol. :j

I have decided to save all my change apart from £1 coins. I am not sure why... but I think it is because I find it more tempting to use or borrow. So I am leaving the gold coins for me and everything else is going in as spare change! :rotfl:

I didn't count what I put in today. I don't really want to follow what I am saving. (Temptation again). So I will count some days what I put in, other days I will just pop it in and forget about it.:D

How does every one resist the temptation when times are hard??? Any tips gladly received! lol. x :o:o:o

  • Ooooh I've not been counting what goes in mine but everything under 50p that I have left at the end of the day has been hoyed in there so far. Excited about the opening, even though that's along way off.. lol

  • Evening all.

Taken me ages to catch up with SPC4 thread to read totals (which were amazing), and this nice new thread for SPC5:j:j:j:j:j

DD1 put a few coppers in the new pot last night and found 10p on the floor this evening.

    £2.18 + 10p= £2.28 in the new pot tonight.;)

Didn't like the loud clunking noise it made as it went in. Bought a huge pot to fill and it just sounds so empty.

Oh well will just have to save hard to get rid of the dreadful thudding noise.

Happy potting and have a great weekend everyone.:T:T:T:T:T:T

Woo hoo! I've got off to a great start. Yesterday I managed to do five hours overtime so hopefully when I get paid I can put that in the pot. And tonight I went to bingo and won £55! £40 of that is going into the pot. I'm using a glass sweet jar at the moment but it's not sealed . However I am thinking about buying a terramundi pot after Christmas.

Suze369 I love your cute lady pig

Oooh I almost forgot. I also found 2 x 1p's roadkill:T I had been looking for a while and then two come along in the same day :rotfl:

    Good Luck everyone

    I'm loving this challenge

Hi Muppet_baby, I see you've made a good start to the year ahead. :)
You too, Purpleroses. Isn't it lovely to start off fresh again.

You're welcome, mud_flower, friendliness costs nothing! ;) I didn't realise you were new to MSE, a warm welcome, it's a great place to gain in so many ways.

Good luck to all [STRIKE]you[/STRIKE] us sealed-pot challengers don't you mean?! You're one of us too..you're in the SPC family! :) Have a lovely weekend and keep hunting for pennies and anything larger! :D

Hi there, izzoh and thank's a lot for bumping the other thread, they're coming a little faster this evening. To answer your query above; by knowing that by the end of the year it'll be so precious to us, and after saving all that time it's become so precious that we couldn't bear to think about it! :) Read through that 1st post again though, it does give some alternatives should things get tough. ;)

I see exactly what you mean about the temptation of having money around, but at least it's there should it really be necessary , but IF you can leave it and try to forget it..so much the better. We all have different circumstances though so that can make a difference, but the main thing is that we try and we try hard! :jSteer clear of counting, but keep coming here for encouragement, that alone is a great incentive!

If you have problems with the bigger coins (£1s & £2s) then keep a spare pot by to put some in so you can use from that one and NOT touch your sealed one cash.

    Best wishes, izzoh.

    Sue x

An amazing start, Palema, keep at it.

Thanks for the giggle, suzitiger. :rotfl:

I began to wonder of you were coming, mumof3plusoh, do you subscribe to the relevant threads to keep connected? Think about it if not..we can't lose you! ;) I hate that horrible CLUNK of the first coin, soarky loves it, takes all sorts!

    Excellent Elle167, you're away!

Have a really lovely weekend all. Goodnight.

    Sue x

  • I'm checking in late this time, could you put me down for a £100 target again towards an amazing holiday in 2013? The holiday as such isn't planned yet, the idea has only just occured to me now but my OH will be graduating and I'm sure he won't object to me whisking him away and spoiling him rotten.

    This is what my SPC related To Do List looks like at the moment;

    1. Buy a new Sealed Pot for 2012
    2. Figure out what to do with the remainder of the change from SPC 4 that couldn't be banked
    3. Make The First Deposit into the new Sealed Pot
    4. Plan the holiday I've just declared I'm saving towards!
    Thank you competition posters!
  • Thanks for the welcome. No not gone anywhere, how could I leave you all.;)

Sorry Sue could you please guide me as to how I subscribe to a thread. Many thanks
