Miggy, the latter is what I've started to do. Pennies seem to be thin on the ground though - can't even search my car for them as it gets hoovered out quite often so would have noticed if I'd dropped any! It's bad when you go for a 3 mile or so walk and don't see a single penny.
And people wonder why I walk with my eyes downcast ... not moping or sulking, just looking for glints of copper!

1 whole penny captured this morning! Ironically dropped something off the bedside table, moved it, and found a penny instead. One more to the Magpie Pot. Can't find what dropped off the bedside table though...
