Just ask Direct Line to call Tesco and confirm it over the phone as you are unable to get the 'paper' copy that they require. What would they do if you came from an online only Insurance company? Would they reject any documents that are printed then as that is all your able to get?

I can't disagree. Tesco were very helpful, considering I was no longer their customer. Direct Line were unhelpful verging on rude.
