Depends whether you can use the lemon juice for other things too... Unless you're having a VERY big pancake party  I'm tempted but the risotto rice and borlotti beans, but really don't ned anything more till I've made bigger inroads into my stocks!0 -
Well I caved and ordered risotto, beans and lemon juice ................... but from this weeks food budget as we have spent hardly anything as clearing the decks for the holidays.
DS1 will be pleased as risotto is his hands down favourite

A morning of blessings................. and in three's too.
Postie came bearing two gold presents for the bys to go on the tree and a card from another of their Matrix Aunties with some treat pennies.
DS1 has requested a "Christmas smelling candle" - so I am popping out to buy him one in a moment - so as today is also the beginning of Hanukkah we shall light a candle at sundown for all our matrix friends.
Then a friend who used to be a hairdresser came in and thinned my hair out - showing me exactly how to do it myself with thinning scissors ................ and gave me a pair for Christmas. He has gone off bearing a tray of tablet for his clients.
Still seeking my Christmas Mojo - but I think I shall capture it today

One of my colleagues left a star shaped biscuit decoration for me: the smell of cinnamon is really quite seductive!
Ah, Christmas Mojo. Wonder if my mojo is out with yours having a cup of gingerbread latte to aid in the mind mapping? Mine knows there's no point in coming round till Thursday night after the paint's dry and the engineers have confirmed that the drains really are unblocked (roll eyes smiley here)‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Afternoon peeps.
Am I too honest? That is the question for today. My reason for asking is that as I was leaving the main post office (had walked away from the counter) and espied a fresh £20 lying on the floor which I immediately picked up and handed in. Part of me now wishes that I hadn't said anything at all because the person behind the counter said that I was too honest handing it in, I explained that it probably belonged to a pensioner who needed it for food. Although £20 would be nice in my purse I just couldn't have it on my conscious. Earlier I did find 5p near my neighbour's front door that is now residing in my change pot:D
I attended interview yesterday - not sure how it went to be honest but I do have one or two advantages: I have a huge list of business contacts who book meeting rooms every now and again as well as the ability to start immediately. The salary is £16K for a 40 hr week with 25 days hol a year and 5 have to be taken at Christmas. Shifts are 8-4.30 or 9-6pm. What worries me is that they seem to have a high turnover of staff with 6 jobs of varying kinds being advertised and the person whom I would be replacing if I was lucky has only been there 6 months.
In typical Horace fashion, I managed to get myself a tad lost - I cannot see in the dark and somehow after wandering about in an area I do not know, managed to find a bus stop and stood at it - the bus clear said Northfield on it and I asked the driver for Northfield and he just grunted. I thought it odd when we started going past odd places e.g. the factory and then a road called Pineapple Road which I know is over near Kings Heath, in the end I asked the bus driver and he said that he was going to Maypole and turfed me off the bus telling me to cross the road and get the next bus which would be along in 10 mins or so. He dumped me into a god forsaken hole - Billesley, I had to ask someone who came to stand at the bus stop where I was:mad: I eventually got home at 6pm...must admit that I did come home via the chipshop and bought 2 cheese & onion fries (croquettes) and a bag of chips (leftover chips will be reheated for lunch).
Aesop - post received today - thanks, I shall spend time soaking and gluing when I next need stamps. I have posted loads of cards today after buying 1st class stamps yesterday and today I posted a recorded delivery packet to my chum in Wisbech - it had to go as a packet even though it contained a card and a tiny box containing a silver pendant which I made earlier this year with her in mind.0 -
Sorry Horace have to laugh at your description of Billesley :rotfl:
Have made some biscotti this morning with mixed chopped nuts and chocolate. Now desperately trying to find a quiet moment in order to sup a cup of coffee and try one. Proving rather difficult!!!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
