Lou what sort of cake did you bake?:o I'm getting boed with doing the same old, same old for Mr LW's lunch box, and need inspiration. It has to be easy to do, though.:D
coconut and cherry. very very easy to do!! jackieg gave me the recipe"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Ooh, I got one of those tote bags today too! Thanks to whoever posted that, it will do for my knitting that I take to work.
Congrats to Bargainbird, hope it cheers you up and you get well soon.
JackieO - lovely as usual!
Rosy - Hope you get the house.
Redruby - Glad your Dad has had a good day.
Anyway, I was on strike today and decided to use it to my full advantage. I have finished painting the hall where I can reach - the next step is the scaffolding, I want to try to do it myself but it's a big job. Also mended a couple of items of clothing (one a new bra that had the wire poking through!) and sewn up the hem on my school trousers. Sorted out my car insurance - got it for half the price of the renewal from present company! Went for a few bits of shopping, ordered the coal and visited a friend. Sewed up a hat I knitted last night which is a Christmas pressie and scrubbed some of the hall floor where the roller spattered (good job it's a wooden floor!).
Just waiting for DD to come in from her work, she now has a 50 minute train journey instead of a 2 minute car ride! At least she is working and seems to be enjoying the job.
Not looking forward to the predicted gales again tonight, hope you all keep safe. Take care. XX0 -
My mouth is feeling sooo much better today - what abcess??? and the swelling has all but gone now, but still need to see the dentist next week and keep taking the anti biotics.
Looked after my DGD today, she is 7 and stayed over night as her mum works early hours and I live about 10 miles from her, she is a joy to have and very entertainiing!!! we did her maths homework and played with her boy cousins cars (shes not allowed to if he is here at the same time) and the old dolls house that was her aunties when she was little, it was such a lovely day, I cooked tea and then her mom came and took her off to Rainbows.
Back at work tomorrow on the early shift so better go and put my breakfast up before I watch a bit of catchup.
Im really envious of the early Xmas decorating, nobody around here has put theres up yet and I dont want to be the first - not that brave, I know it shouldnt stop me but I dont like standing out!!!

Evening all
((((bramble and candy))))
FMW - whereabouts do you live?
BB - woohoo well done you!
Long day here. I went to Pembrokeshire office this morning to help re-write our curriculum and lesson plans for the new programme I am delivering in work. Lots of headwork, but it does mean I can use the lesson plans for my uni course, and I get to write them in work time next week.
Then this afternoon although uni was cancelled I still met with my group so we could do work on our group project. The 4 girls came over my flat and all brought cakes/biscuits. We had a really productive couple of hours, then 2 left and the other 2 of us gossiped and planned to go out as 'single ladies' starting in the new year.
I have quite a few things I need to do tonight - write 2 birthday cards, order one present, wrap 2 xmas presents for secret santa and pick an outfit for tomorrow night. It's my old schoolfriend now colleague's 30th birthday party. I was just going to wear jeans and a nice top, but found out that Toyboy will be there so now need to dress up nice to prove a point :rotfl: the things we girls do!
OS wise - DW is on, not much else!
Have a good evening all
