OS Daily Wednesday 30th November

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 30th November). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Strike day today, so there won't be many people at work & I don't have to start til 8:30 so I could have a lie in, but hubby needs to get to work extra early today so needs to be on the earlier bus.
Hopefully my car will be repaired today, fingers crossed.
Tea tonight is Jerk chicken & rice.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow.
Ive been quite busy the last few days so havent managed to post, but have read the thread. Hugs to all those who need them. Sending positive vibes from across the world.
My day has been !!!!!!! frustrating :mad: I know I am in a different country and so customs and culture are so differently, but sometimes it just really winds me up. People here cannot just make an orderly queue and "wait their turn" so to speak. I got pushed out of the way as I was trying to get off the bus today. Im not sure where these people are rushing to, and why they cannot wait the 2 seconds it will take for me to get off the bus first. I was in front of them :mad::mad::mad: Sorry that was a bit of a rant.
Then after months of trying to get definite dates for time off in January, and being told over the past few weeks I could choose my dates, today when I told them, I was told that infact I have to split up my vacation, and can't take it in one go :mad::mad: So that means that I will definitely not be coming home at all, although I had pretty much decided it was too expensive, I was still umming and aahhhing about it. Does anyone else who lives far away have that problem, you want to travel with your time off, but you also want to go back home to see your family? I usually end up just going back to see my family.
At least my day will end on a high, Indian again for dinner tonight... :j:j:j
Hope everyone has a great day. Hugs to everyone0 -
Morning Hester & FMY, and all who follow
Didnt manage to get on yesterday, busy with work and stuff and then OH came home just after dinner and decided he wanted to move the cars about... I have 2 race cars, and one was at the front and one was at the back of the cottage... Both cars had flat batterys so we had to jump one and then OH said jump in the 'old banger' type car and I'll push you round... okay no probs ..
I forgot this one had no brakes and no seats in it and OH pushed me round from the front to the back with the old farm LANDROVER we have lol... bump bump bump.. it was like being on an Autograss track lol..
Anyway... I have a confession to make, well I have 2 actually.... :rotfl:
First one... I made bread to rise last night, then fell asleep in the chair after sampling the sloe vodka and went to bed and forgot to do anything with the bread.... so this morning it had risen over the top of the tin.. over the sides, and all over the cooker top... so I scooped it all back in put the oven on and shoved it in and hoped for the best...
well its not the best loaf Ive made... but its not the worse:rotfl:
Second confession.... DD1 works in a fancy restaurant and brought home a ice cream carton of beef... very strange I thought.... until I looked into it ... She had written on the board.. Beef for dogs....Dont think so... its what I would call the 'scrag ends' off a beef joint from Sunday... the best bits my mum calls them... so they've gone into the freezer for a beef curry one night :T
DD2 no school today... My mum and Dad are visiting for the day... they live 100 miles away.. I had to move away from them as you know, so dont get to see them much now. Up until 2 years ago I always lived 5 mins from my mum...
Ive got some deliveries to make and our plant is bottling today so we will be visiting there and going onto a farm shop and a big garden centre with all the christmas things :j so DD2 will love that
OS... erm.. the bread I guess... tea tonight mum is bringing a gammon down to cook which will then do us for a couple of days afterwards... WM to empty and put in front of log burner... DW emptied...
huggles to all and apologies for not being here for those who need support ...

Morning :hello:
I woke up once an hour last night, went straight back to sleep each time though. I was feeling really cold last night so I put the heating on, I went to bed earlier than mr tru and he promised to turn it off before he came up. Except he didn't and the bedroom was soooooo stuffy. I didn't have the energy to get out of bed and turn it off.
We visited BIL and his girlfriend last night, they have THE most gorgeous jack russell. He led on the floor in front of me and stared at me for a few minutes, decided I was probably OK and jumped on my lap. He used my hand as a pillow and fell asleep. They're lucky I didn't hide him under my coat and bring him home with meMr tru has been nagging me for a JR for years, I'm about to give in...........
I've got a busy morning ahead of me, lots of tidying, sorting, rearranging and list making. Then I'm going to have a lazy afternoon on the sofa, doing the books then catching up with a couple of recorded programs. I've just noticed how light it is, I'd better go and let the girls out.
It's December tomorrow, hope you've all warmed up your vocal chordsBulletproof0 -

It's sods law that the week I book off work to revise for an exam and "get stuff done" I feel so crumbly I just about manage the revision
No OS today, just gonna do some revision in bed until my exam then go back to sleep(hopefully!!).Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
