Morning All
Will be spending the day wrapping pressies, I have got all of them except FIL's, he is so difficult to buy for so I might just get him a few joke pressies such as a sat nag, jellyatrics (elderly jelly babies) and some racing grannies.
Food shop tomorrow, but again I don't need much, only fresh stuff to buy.
Way to go bargainbird,:j that should help with Christmas, does that mean we are all invited to yours this year
DS has gone down to the college to see if any of his tutors are in.
DD's tutor is not on strike so she has a lecture at 1pm.
DH is not on strike because he is not in the union, but he does support what the strike is about.
There is only one teacher in the union and is striking at DH's school, but the Head and the other teachers have given her their full backing.
It annoys me to hear women bleating that their darlings can't be looked after and as such they have to take time off work to look after them, in my opinion if you have children you should be prepared to look after them

Morning everyone,
Lovely crisp clear morning here, not like last night, my feet got so wet on the way home from work that I felt like I was paddling in the sea!
Quiet day at home today, hopefully get a bit more Christmas shopping done later and need to drop a key off with the plumber as he is servicing the boiler tomorrow.
Tea tonight will be a big pot of chilli, proper cold weather food.
Hugs to all in need especially Beth, JackieG, Taplady and Lou.
Get well soon Adelight and Bargainbird.
Let us know how DD got on at her new school FW.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all!
Congrats BB - how did you manage that?
had a little lay in this morning, i'm feeling really down about a few things atm. My relationship, my gdad, etc and a childhood friend of my sister's died yesterday. He was found in my village on Monday with critical head injuries and it seems no one is clear as to what happened, he passed away yesterday and it's so so sad.
I'm out for work dinner tonight and my heart isn't really in it, but I can't cancel.
I'm also fed up that i clean the house each morning and once more it looks like a tip. Why is it ALWAYS down to me to keep it clean? Why can't OH put things away or in the bin?!
Going to have a bath and then take pup out.

XH still hanging on in there which is great news. As the schools are closed I'm working from home today (I sooo love my job) so I'm about to set up my 'home office' on the kitchen table.
Stewing steak in the slow cooker for dinner - feels like the kind of day it will be welcome and will try and tempt the Twins to stay for tea so I can ply them with hot food and vegetables!

Morning. I know it's been a while. I'm not usually around on a Wednesday, but I'm on strike for the first time in my life, as are at least half of my colleagues. It'snot been an easy decision, but unfortunately it's needed.
Just as well I'm at home, really- the place is a pit (of my own making) ,the washing pile is almost as tall as me, and I need to take the hoover out for a run on the stairs.
W*rk is really difficult right now - after a really tough afternoon, my HoD cornered me and had a real go at me because she was unsatisfied with how I was teaching. I have recently been diagnosed with reactive depression, and I admitted as such to her, along with the fact that I had not been offered treatment at this time. She went on to say that if my mental health was in such a state, then perhaps I lacked the capability to stand in front of a class. She then said that perhaps it was time for a competancy meeting with herself and SLT. I managed to keep it together until I found my union rep , then utterly lost it.I couldn't stop crying for a good ten minutes. He listened to me, then got a senior colleague who was there to hear what I had to say as well as bearing witness to how upset I was. The upshot is I'm submitting a formal statement of complaint to the Head, with the full weight of my union behind me. I will be drafting it later today, and while I'm not entirely sure how things will pan out, it cannot be worse than how I felt last night. Thank god for my DH and a couple of friends from work who've kept me sane.
On OS front, I'm waiting to hear when my AF delivery is coming (sometime tomorrow, allegedly) and I need to do some batch cooking once I've fed and changed the DW and WM.
Have a good day everyone.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH
