I have nearly all of my Xmas shopping, go me!

Just to clarify, I'm a working uni student with no children, so luckily I don't have to go to that expense! The only person I have left is my other half... Not looking forward to that one, I can assure you. He doesn't seem to need or want anything.
How is everyone else getting along? I bought nearly all of mines online, it is much easier! And to be pretty fair - I don't feel as though i've spent TOO much. Although the bank may phone me wondering why my card is being used so much as I rarely use it.
I'm getting very excited for the big day now. Can't wait to see all of my family and friends :j
What do you lot think of Christmas shopping and Christmas? Yaaaay it's lots of fun! Or are you simply a BAH-HUMBUG.
And finally, to keep this post MSE friendly :money:...
Have you any tips to keep things cheap yet cheerful over the season?

I have done the Xmas shopping, wrapped it and written the cards out too. I have even ordered the food online.
I like to be organised, can't really be doing with rushing around at the last minute, going out in the freezing cold/rain and standing in queues, online is the way for me and has been for years.
I have this morning booked some Christmas activities, ice skating at the Wonderland park near York, and Cinderella pantomine with the Chuckle brothers.
Only 24 sleeps to Christmas:D I can't wait, I just love Christmas, and the tree is going up tomorrow, although my neighbour has had hers up for a week now:eek:
MSE tip - Debenhams have 30% off in the morning according the adverts on tv just now:money:0 -
Wow merlot you are organised! And I thought I was starting early.

Those activites sound wonderful. I hope you are joining in the fun too! I have asked for Panto tickets this year as part of my Christmas. I love the theatre. This year it's Peter Pan, which will make a nice change from all of the generic fairy tales they put on each year. Jim Davidson is in the one in Glasgow one. He's not remotely as cool as the Chuckle Brothers, who true to their name will be a good old laugh.
We normally don't put our tree up until the 7th. Marking the first week in December. And uh no offence to your neighbour, but she's one of those people who put their tree up in November that people normally sigh at. I'd say it's just a tiny but over enthusiastic

I have done the majority of my present shopping too, all online as well, and all from the Boots 3 for 2, so I got a few of them free! I only need to find two more presents, for OH and my mum. I'm so organised this year, I almost can't believe it! I'm normally the person rushing around on the last weekend before Christmas trying to get everything last minute, so it feels nice having so much of it done already. I have tried harder though this year as come Christmas I will be eight months pregnant so not sure exactly how much rushing around I'll be able to do!
A few houses near us have started putting the Christmas lights up. There's one house nearby that goes crazy with a load of lights and inflatable santas, snowmen etc in their front garden, it's really something! They've not put their stuff up yet but I'm sure it won't be long...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
i think im almost done, just 2 things to buy. but im giong to get all my presents out tonight n put them in piles for different people so i an double check everyones bought for!
was debating wrapping them while i had last week off work, but i dont have a lot of space here (Still living at home) and when theyre wrapped seem to take up more space! but ill get through that bit by bit nearer the time
i'm always organised with christmas - sometimes a little too organised! but its all come from working part time for years while i was at school/uni (finally FT now!) and having to spread the cost of a number of months!0 -
Crikey, you are all so organised!
I've bought two presents so far
- both for OH......
Stuck for present ideas this year for everyone else, Dad being a particular one! Any ideas?Penny: I'm a little low on cash.
Leonard: How much you got?
Penny: Nothing!
Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?
Penny: I'm cute, I get by.0 -
I've almost done, unfortunately I seem to be shopping for all my family this year. My mum has delegated a list to me (because I am younger and therefore can choose more appropriate gifts, apparently) and nags so much that I have bought them all already- mainly from Amazon, with cashback.
There have been some good discounts around this year. At the moment Whistles have 20% off plus free delivery on their website so I bought a top for my sister which she pointed out but said was too expensive and a hat and scarf for my Dad's partner.
Ordered the christmas food shopping online- had a code for £15 off a £75 shop plus free delivery. Tree being delivered next weekend, all decorations out of loft sorted out and new ones bought to replace broken/ tatty ones.
I just know I will still be wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve though- I am never that organised!
I just love Christmas!Saving for an early retirement!0 -
I had planned to have everything bought and wrapped by the end of November. Sadly i will fail, but at least i have something for everyone at the moment, just need to supplement them with some other stuff and we'll be away. Takes the stress out of it doing it early i find.0

I've got everything apart from hubby's present, but the thing that he wants doesn't come out until the week before Christmas...0

I was in shock the other week when I realised I had done all mine - I normally leave it until a week before xmas  !
however, I now keep seeing things in shops and thinking 'mom/nan/stepdad etc will like that' so I buy it!0
