  • Hey all

Just reporting in after a long weekend.

Im at No Spend Day number 9 of 17!!

Had a relatively boring weekend. Was desperate to save money so i have literally stayed home and dreamed about my new flat.

The only place I have been is to B&Q to look at wallpaper samples and paint swatches. Picked up one of every free book that I could find!

How boring is trying to figure out a colour scheme??

Think the bedroom is going to be purple and champagne after a stunning wallpaper I have found. The kitchen is Black and Chrome and the Lounge is looking at being oak and Red!! Still unsure on the lounge at the moment. Need to find a nice wall-art design.

Is anyone feeling in the Christmas spirit yet? I'm not - No tree yet but just don't seem to be getting in the mood for it to go up. It might be because I've got 2 weeks still at work and next weekend I'm going to watch Everton V Norwich and visit my cousin's grave and put flowers on my friends memorial tree.

Also waiting for the exchange of contracts on my flat is taking it out of me - I am not a patient person! I want everything NOW! Its ow things have tended to go right in my life. If things take time they have tended to go completely rhubarb!

So with that in mind I probably won't feel festive until Christmas Eve.

That's awful. Are you sure that they were stolen though? Some councils, like ours used to, don't allow personal keepsakes left on graves. Why shouldn't you feel sorry for yourself? It's a big shock. Huge hugs to you and your family.

There were definatly stolen, Its a childs grave and there were only little keepsakes, Ive been down nearly everyday for the last 2 years (the graves been there 3) and this isnt the first time, doubt it will be the last so annoying .

    Thank you xxx

  • Hello, can a newbie join the challenge even though the month is almost half gone?
Today (well yesterday now) was a NSD and I would like to set a target of 8 NSDs in total.
    So hopefully that's NSD 1/8 !
My target is to put £1 for each NSD in my shiny new savings account and start saving up for next Christmas...

PS I love this challenge, never thought that NOT doing something would feel like an achievement :)
    The scary figure: £30,403

    * Went into Mr T and 'treated' us to a new bin (wild I know!) it was £31 :eek: BUT i had a £25 gift card and a £3 JTD coupon so only £3 actually came out of my pocket .OH been going on for ages about a new bin, current one starting to rust - which I'm royally miffed at as its a Brabantia one) and also its a pedal bin and keeps hitting the wall when you open it if it's at the wrong angle, leaving mark. This is a push top one which will stand flat against the wall so no mark, and it's three times the capcity, so even though the bin bags will cost more, we'll use less.

Hey, Kerri, I thought Brabantia bins had a lifetime guarantee - worth checking out? Even drop them an email and see what they say. I love Brabantia, my ironing board is Brabantia and is 27 years old!! It's outlasted two marriages, lol!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have a Simple Human touch top bin ( rectangular) and when the top stopped working they replaced it without quibble. Also, a tip re binbags if you have access to Co$stco, I use their swing bin liners for mine ( its quite big) and they fit perfectly and are a fraction of the price of the branded ones. ( Co$tco ones are @£6 for 100)
