    Thanks!

    Nora.
  • Well, it's after 6pm and I'm just about to go in the bath, so unless a small disaster happens between now and midnight I am declaring my first nsd.
    Day 1/5
Wasn't as difficult as I expected - just made me think twice before popping to the shop etc. dd and I had an afternoon of cooking and cleaning and writing out Christmas cards (which are still not all done).
Wonder if I can do another one tomorrow? I'm at work all day so as long as I don't 'nip to the shops' on the way home I should be safe. Do need to get my secret santa at some point this week though...

*creeps in from Nativity stage left* errr....guess what....errr....not a NSD for me today (again :o) Went into Mr T and 'treated' us to a new bin (wild I know!) it was £31 :eek: BUT i had a £25 gift card and a £3 JTD coupon so only £3 actually came out of my pocket .OH been going on for ages about a new bin, current one starting to rust - which I'm royally miffed at as its a Brabantia one) and also its a pedal bin and keeps hitting the wall when you open it if it's at the wrong angle, leaving mark. This is a push top one which will stand flat against the wall so no mark, and it's three times the capcity, so even though the bin bags will cost more, we'll use less.

anyway, popped into Mr A after that, £50-odd shop down to £10 after coupons etc so not a bad haul. OH (who doesn't like fruit) has got into the Inn0cent Smmothies and is drinking them like there's no tomorrow - AND requested some blueberries  think he's had a whack on the head :rotfl::rotfl: (annoyingly the branded smoothie was £2.50-odd, the mr A one was £1 for a smaller carton but still cheaper...of course the mr A one was OOS  - still, figured as it's xmas and the voucher fairy was shopping i'd treat him :D)

Finishing xmas shopping tomorrow and I WILL be treating myself to a tea and scone so won't be a NSD either. Goodness I'm rebelling this month :o:p

  • Hi everyone, hope you've all had a lovely weekend :D

No 5 to report today :D

Need to try to sort my sig out and prioritise the savings pots ...... holiday (which was a dream and was going to take at least 3 years to save for) is off the list again :( as too many other things need to take priority just now......

    • Boiler - overdue a big bang as it's pretty ancient so really need to get a grip and put money aside
    • Garden shed - now becoming a "need" rather than a "want" as I've had to take my planters for the veg to DMs as I've nowhere to put them. (Having the shed will mean I can get more planters/grow more stuff so it should pay for itself in time). Also had to move stuff from the garage into my lounge  in the high winds so I could get the car in (not the best solution, believe me!:o)
    • Butterfly table set - gave up my kitchen table to fit in a (free 2nd hand ;)) dresser which was badly needed for storage .... downside is I've nowhere to use my sewing machine now:eek:
    • Fridge / freezer - managed to hole it (sealed with duck tape) but it's also ancient & I've been meaning to put a bit away for a replacement ... unfortunately it's not that cold inside so not sure if the hole has damaged something vital:eek:
So .... if I every get through that lot - I'll start saving for the holiday again!:o However, I really want to try to save as much as poss to replace these so I don't have to take out credit .....

Are you a member of Freecycle Rising? You might be able to pick up some items on your 'wish list' from there. People are always clearing out freezers, tables etc, and even sheds :). You're going to have to be quick as they do get snapped up quickly - or you could post a WANTED on there if you've used it before?

Thanks Kerri - I've been looking for a shed for over a year :( on Free*cycle (and long ladders so I can get into my loft).... people always seem to put stuff on when I'm at work and it's long gone by the time I get in :( (I put my table and chairs on as I couldn't fit them in the kitchen with the dresser unfortunately .... honestly, I had about 10 takers in under 30 minutes!)

I will keep trying as my best pal did get a shed a couple of years ago and has also managed to scrounge a butterfly table off someone so it does happen.:)

    Boo!

Just wanted to pop on and say hello. I'm still lurking about, I just ran out of time to keep up with you all as much as I used to. :( Will be trying to keep NSDs counted on my diary though because they are mischievous and tend to run and hide from you if you don't keep an eye on them and chase them if you have to!

I hope every-one is well and that you are having fun chasing NSDs. Take care all :)
