Hi folks,
As expected, a visit to Sainsbugs ruled out an NSD for the day. I hope everyone has a good night regardless of whether they go out to paint the town red (no pun intended!!) or stay at home and watch the TV.
Happy New Year to you all
RedIf you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

The Blue & Yellow Emporium has been doing a trade then
No1 Offspring kindly chauffeured my poor old bones to the Suth-am-tun (Southampton if ya posh
) primarily for me to get their washing up gloves--they were a really good price for the only type of gloves that don't cause an allergic reaction--& I usually get about 20 pairs at a time cuz 1k€a is soooooo far from us. Wouldn't you just know, they didn't have any! The blokey said they were supposed to be coming in stock in four weeks, so I guess we'll have to go back sooner than we would normally have done. It will be a struggle I know, but what else is a girl to do (secretly :T in the background :cheesy: ) when one suffers from fluffy-inside-maigold-itis
Must say Chaps; I know I've been noticable by my absence but seriously??!!?!?! Since when does the NSD Nutty Social Ding-Dong Club pass up any excuse for a knee's-up? It's New Year's Eve! Fire up the Tardis & we can get to Times Square, Edinburgh, Table Mountain... that could be our Challenge, *que Mission:Impossible theme. darm-dum.dam-darm.darm should we choose to accept it* to see how many NYE Midnights we can celebrate in one night!

How sad am I! Prepared to go another day of boiling the kettle for hot water, or bringing some down from upstairs (dangerous with our precarious stairs!!).
Instead, I stock-took (taked?!) the freezer, finding lots of goodies (and not so nice stuff). I also completed my crafting stock take too...now need to type all these details into their respective spreadsheets. I've also been watching a few online art/crafting videos I got a year's subscription too...really inspiring! I want to watch more, but have tea to make
!
DH washed the car, so it is all sparkly for 2012.....lovely

Happy New Year everyone xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

I've reached my 2nd target of 17.
Work was busy enough, but we weren't rushed off our feet. And it's definitely nice to be off tomorrow.
I don't plan a late night either.Another rebel Scot here...I just can't be bothered any more.:o I used to like celebrating Hogmanay. Then I stopped drinking and don't like being around people who've drunk too much.I can't cope with noise or big groups of people...Sorry to sound like such a killjoy.
I remember a few years ago being at a friend's house with lots of others.Midnight arrived, and after singing out 'Happy New Year' to everyone in the room, the room went silent as everyone (except me) got out their bl**dy mobile phones to text anyone and everyone. That was the next the next 15-odd minutes taken care of.I couldn't believe it,I just thought 'what is the point of being here?'.
I made a black bun last year.I wasn't organised enough to make one this year.I do get nostalgic for Scottish things, maybe I'll get the shortbread out tonight.
It'll be a quiet night for me.I'm quite tired,so don't think that I'll be up at midnight.
Whatever you've got planned, have a great evening and Happy New Year!
PS I'm so pleased that I found this thread. It has definitely helped me to think about my spending habits and helped me have more control over how I choose to spend my money. Thanks to all to help to run it.0 -
Well, we have missed the boat as far as celebrating New Year in New Zealand and Australia are concerned, but there is still time to break out the champers - after all, it is midnight somewhere in the world! (India perhaps?) Happy New Year - hic! All together now....should auld acquaintance be forgot.....One life - your life - live it!0
