I got 1 delivered today, no idea when I will get round to making it, so much stuff in the house as is it just now and I already have a homemade cake.:)
I would've liked the cupcakes but they weren't online when I did my order.:(
I hope, when I do make it, it looks as good the photos I've seen in here.:)0 -
Ours is due out ofthe oven in 5 minutes, was surprised how boozy the fruit was, our kitchen smells like it had a hard night on the town lol.
I think it would be the almonds and marzipan, both being nut products they wouldn't last as long as the other ingredients, it was suggested possibly the apricot jam but it depends when that was produced. Hubby says each individual pack has a use by date but can't verify as he chucked the packaging away. I'm tempted to get another one tomorrow but it depends on what will go off in the pack.Comping wishlist for 2017

Thanks to everyone's enthusiasm on here I bit the bullet and have brought and baked 2 of these today. Was amazed how good they come out, not as dark as my normal fruit cake mix. But I baked 1 in a quality street tin after reading on here that you can
and the other in a silicone square cake thing and both took 4 hrs to cook. I covered the tops as suggested and cooked at 120 as a fan oven. No burnt bits at all I'm happy to say so tomorrow night after work marzipan and icing to give as presents on saturday
Wish I had picked up a few more now ......Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

You could cut the square cake into 4 and make it go further

Can you crumble up the cake, removing the damaged bits. Then roll the crumbled cake into small balls, dip in chocolate or icing and add sprinkles to make a totally random christmas cake nibble.
i just made my cake and after three and half hours is totally burnt! fuming!!!0 -
Got a couple more cupcake kits to make with kids when they are back from the ex for a quid each today. Iced dads cake as well and it looks good, though despite the recipe asking for 1 egg white and 1 tspn of lemon juice it took twice that to stop the icing looking like dry concrete mix so hope it is OK!0
