when it says wrap and store somewhere cool and dry, does it mean the fridge? or where?
When I make the normal Christmas cake I wrap it in foil and put it in an old chocolate tin. Generally it spends some time bathing in brandy too! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
You could use these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heinz-Treacle-Sponge-Pudding-300g/dp/B004G90KE2/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324236842&sr=8-1-spell
But just buy the cheapest versions around 50p each at supermarkets and make sure to line them really well.
As for cellophane, we got ours from ebay but if you need it quick then a flower shop may sell you some.someone mentioned using the tins from Heinz sponge puddings, which seem to be on offer at the moment. I've used beans cans before but obviously they're much smaller but I like the size of the Heinz (sponge pud) ones
Cello available from florists, Hobbycraft & I've seen it in WH Smiths & LIDL recently.

I will ask local florists later in the week when i go to get ribbon, decorations, etc.
Thanks so much. I made a big one today and it looks good, now just need to make other one for presents.

as you are making small ones - you might be able to use this type of cello bag (think from Lakeland £1.99 for 30. Poundland sometimes have them & The Range & Hobbycraft also sell them)0 -

Got the Delia one to compare and the contents look almost the same except that Delia has a bit more in eack packet. Lot numbers are not that far off either!! Whoever said they thought these were made in the same place is probably right!!
Still think this is the better deal as Delia's is only the cake so you have to buy the icing etc.0
