I think its safe to say that the work program has been a complete farcical failure so far and only a matter of time before the government closes it down.

Or simply rebrands it as the 'Flexible Work Program' just as the New Deal beame the so called 'Flexible new Deal'! It gets Grayling and Duncan Smith off the hook as they then could continue to claim the FWP as some sort of success simply due to its survival. Even if it is as shambolic as ever!
  • I've been on the Work Program with Ingeus for some time now. It's obvious to me that the Work Program won't last its full two years, it will collapse before then. The advisors have insufficient time to do anything for clients; the fact that Ingeus and other providers do not get paid anything until they are successful in finding someone lasting employment is a disaster for difficult to place people (i.e. people displaced off the sick list) - it means we get zero time spent on us at all, I just walk in, say hello, get my reimbursed for my fare and then leave! Still, I suppose it's better than being lumbered with one of the crap jobs they do have on offer.
