Welcome to the forums and this challenge helly! Good luck with the debtbusting. I'll pop you down for £15,000 but if you want to change that target let me know. Every £1 counts so good lucktired_of_debt wrote: »Please add me. I've been in debt for all of my adult life and have got to the stage that I barely have a life because of the amount I am paying in interest every month. So I started searching the internet and came across this site and I have decided that I am going to clear my debts in 16 months through snowballing, concentrating on my credit cards first. It is going to be tough and I know that the excitement and determination I currently have cannot last for 16 months so I have come on to the forum for encouragement.
I had already decided to do lots of overtime in Jan and Feb because I have no life at the minute anyway due to debt. So it was only a small step to deciding to extend that period until I had paid off all my debts. I know that it means effectively working and sleeping for a year but since my life feels that it is already on hold because of debt then it's not really that big a sacrifice. Plus I have the goal of knowing that, instead of struggling to meet ends meet every month, by May 2013 I will have at least £600 a month all to myself!
Looking forward to reading my way through this thread and to watching as my debt shrinks along with everyone else's!
Total Debt: £13,509.02
Target Debt by end of 2012: £5269.38
Amount I want to have paid off by end of 2012: £8239.64
Welcome to the forums and this challenge tired of debts - your story sounds very familiar to me, and how amazing will it be to have that £600 each month. Good luck with the debtbusting

Welcome to the challenge wear, it's good to have you on board. Don't worry about the large figures on here, some of us have lots of debt and so the payments are naturally higher. Every £1 counts though, and you'll find lots of support on here.

I stupidly forgot about my car tax - due end of the monthcant believe it got left off my super duper spreadsheet. I only took over the car (was DS1) 6 months ago - you would think I would have thought about car tax. Anyway good news is there should be cash for it! I also got a letter from DVLA saying I have to renew my photo licence £20 but luckily only due by March so hopefully will do that next month - so please no more suprises
I have made some more small over payments my balance now sitting at :£440 / £7,500

A nice chunky £300 off Barclaycard. Happily I just discovered I have a month longer for the BC o% deal than I thought I did. So I have until 29 March to clear that card; there's just over £1,000 on it now. Will do my best! Really want to avoid any more balance transfers if possible.0

A number of odd ones, altogether my hubby and I's debt is going to be £6640 I worked out so going to put that as my target and just for my notes in this order!
My Student OD - 0% to expire in May £1990
Credit Card - 17.5% currently paying 55/month onto this but dad (having started new 70K+ job) has suggested he may help me with some of this soon £1750
Joint OD - 11% 1200
Husband OD - 0% to expire in May 2014 £1700
making everything £6640 - I have just gone from employed to self-employed and we have found out we are pregnant, due end of Aug if all goes well so may not make £6640 once I get maternity allowance as hubby a student but who knows, it may help so would like that as target please
will update sig once i get my number - hehe!
