Hi Jostick,
I'm afraid that Marks and Spencers do not pay commission on travellers'
cheques or or any form of currency exchange. Apologies for any
disappointment.
Thanks,
Stuart
Just had this reply to my enquiry this morning.

I posted on here some time ago that I had bought my &more TC's through QUIDCO and had not received my cash back. I emailed QUIDCO and they contacted M&S who declined the payment. I appealed to QUIDCO and they contacted M&S again but they have still refused. QUIDCO have now put a note on the M&S link saying that they don't pay cashbach on TC'S.Wombling £457.410

Oh dear, they should rally make this very clear when offering such services. What a shame, good on you though Sashacat for pursuing it :T0

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that cashes stirling travellers cheques commission free?
I asked at the Post Office today but they charge 1.5%.
Am just wondering what to do if Alliance & Leicester will not take cheques once I buy them (despite other users managing to do so), as that's what they told me on the phone.
Unless anyone has any other ideas??0 -
I've used both LTSB and Nationwide.moonunit wrote:Am just wondering what to do if Alliance & Leicester will not take cheques once I buy them (despite other users managing to do so), as that's what they told me on the phone.

I was told by an A&L branch manager that they would take them.
It's also been posted (on here or on stoozing.com) that Britannia Building Society will take them.0 -
Cheers Yorkshireboy - will just stick them in my LTSB account then. Feels less of a risk, knowing I've got a back up if one option fails :-)0

The only stipulation (the branch CSA let me look at their intranet pagemoonunit wrote:Cheers Yorkshireboy - will just stick them in my LTSB account then. Feels less of a risk, knowing I've got a back up if one option fails :-)
) is that they're either LTSB's own or Amex - and my M&S Sterling travellers cheques were Amex. 0 -
Ta for the tip... will make sure I get Amex then xx0

An M&S Bureau de Change should cash them for you, take the reciept. Then pop the cash into wherever you like!
I'm pretty sure when I read the T&C's, M&S will not buy back their travellers cheques.0
