Kia Ceed
Hi Guys,
Been looking at the Renault Clio but also looking at a 2010 Kia 1.6 5Dr Ceed 2.
Want to know what ppl think of them on here.
Anyone had experience of them. If anything has came up under the warranty had you had any problems getting them to repair it?

I'd say both cars were pretty similar in quality terms. The KIA had a seven year warranty from new and the Renault just three. If you are intending to keep the car for more than a year or so, the KIA may make more sense... although neither warranty will cover wear-and-tear items.0

I have a 1.6. CRDi and Im impressed.
Build quality very good, well put together
Engine; the deisel is particularly refined (search the internet for similar views)
Dealers; on par with others, Ive had cause to replace 2 items under the 7yr warranty and both times it was done without fuss or bother.
Handling; excellent, similar to a focus, never been scared on a fast corner.
MPG: on a long run I get about 56, on short runs as long as I dont cane it I get about 51.

The new models are night and day difference between the old ones. I have a 2007 Ceed 1.6 CRDI SW and have had several of the newer models as rentals from Hertz and been very impressed.
Very similar in handling/ride/size to a Focus with a great engine and quality is very good (even if the interior plastics wont keep VW awake at night). Cant argue with the warranty either

Lets just put the warranty thing to bed shall we?
Most parts will have been supplied with a minimum 5 year supplier warranty, this goes for most manufacturers. Offering a 7 year warranty isn't KIA saying "our cars are great, and here's the proof", it's actually more of a gamble, they're gambling that the extra trade will outstrip the cost of replacing parts during the final 2 years of the warranty.
Other manufacturers make profit from failures by charging the customer for the parts and THEN charging the supplier for the same under the suppliers warranty.... The automotive industry has been screwing it's suppliers like this for decades.
Is this 7 year warranty a good thing? Yes
Does it mean what you think it means? No“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The other car they are considering is a Renault. I don't think they care about poor quality electrics!0
