Congratulations OP, as Tiddlywinks says you will be resourceful and things will work out for you - may not be easy, but nothing worth having ever is! You'll look back on this period in your life with v fond memories.

I happen to think that every child is a blessing. I also know that the most foolproof way of avoiding conception is by not having sex.[/QUOTE]

For those who are unaware of the workings of the body it is perfectly physically possible to get pregnant without actually having penetrative sex.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Don't be a dog in the manger! Jesus was the star of the show.

In context, family planning is a modern phenomenon that has only become necessary because women now go out to work. Pre 1960s, large families were raised on just one salary so it is perfectly possible to do this in a MSE way.

This bugs me. You (and I see this a lot, so not just you, haha) have it the wrong way around - women have always wanted less children, and working class women have always, well, worked! Family planning has always existed in one form or another, it's just easier now (much, much easier!). Housewives with a dozen children are the "modern" phenomenon in most families! I think this is why some find people having unplanned babies to be very foolish. In this day and age, and in this country, there really isn't an excuse.

I only care that all children are wanted. And, though unplanned, this baby sounds wanted, and that's what matters. OP, you got this far, you'll manage, don't worry. The problem with 3 is things like hotel rooms. But you'll all still fit into ordinary cars and houses. (Assuming it's just one, and that you're more careful in future, ha) And it's great that they're all so close in age, though you might sometimes doubt that! Congratulations and best of luck :)
  • I reckon if people REALLY though too much about having babies, like:

    - would my partner be emotionally/financially up to it?

    - would I be emotionally/financially up to it?

    - will our relationship be up to it?

    - will the rest of the world be up to it? Will our politicians get things wrong and will some terrorist somewhere press the big red button and we'll all end up trying to raise our families in a nuclear wasteland?

I don't think anyone would EVER have a baby. But people do, and manage.

I'd imagine it's a leap of faith, like falling in love, but worth it.

Don't know any girls who got pregnant accidentally IRL but I do know one chap who got his newish girlfriend up the duff.

It went a bit like this at first:

Him: ":eek: OH MY GOD SHE'S PREGNANT. WE'LL NEVER COPE. I CAN'T AFFORD THIS. MY LIFE IS RUINED"

Me: "Calm down, you'll be fine."

    ...two years later:

Him: "Look how it has all worked out. I am a father. I have a woman and a baby to provide for, so I work harder than a !!!!less youth. I feel sorry for other men with no babies, they are but boys still. Look at my million pictures of the baby doing things, like sit on the floor. I am a father. Doesn't the baby look like me? This is my role in life. I am transformed. I'm going to take the baby to football. I am going to work an extra shift then to pay for baby things."

    Me: "...shut the chuff up...."

When I was pregnant with my son, and worried it wasn't the right time, my mother said that if everyone waited for the "right time" to have a baby the human race would die out sharpish.

This bugs me - "fewer children" not "less"!
