There constantly seems to be a thread on here moaning about cyclists, then some cyclists turn up and moan about drivers, then they collectively moan about pedestrians and then pedestrians post about how awful both cyclists and drivers are.

What about motability scooters? Can we have a category for that?
  • as my daughter in law got ran over this morning, in the dark, on the pavement, by a cyclist with no lights on as she stepped out of her own front door ..............the cyclists have it!! The cyclist's excuse was - it is too dangerous to ride on the roads!!!

To be honest, if it was a deathmatch then I don't see cyclists or pedestrians faring too well.

As for cyclists vs pedestrians that could be more interesting. Are the pedestrians allowed to use any form of weaponry? A few well placed shots with rocks could dismount Mr Cyclist ready for a vicious beating... or even, if one were accurate enough, a stick in the wheel to send them flying over the handlebars.

Drivers. The driving test needs to be made much harder, and stupid driving needs to be punished by an immediate driving ban for a few months, and they should be made to sit a new test before being allowed to drive again.

The potential for harm is far greater with a car than with a pedestrian or cyclist.

Pedestrians. Unfortunately, the law says we're not allowed to kill them even if they're being bl00dy stupid.

I think there are idiots in all categories TBH!! I wouldn't like to say who is the worst, but as a driver and if pressed, I'd say cyclists! :D

That sounds a bit harsh but I do agree that drivers should be made to re-sit their driving test every 5 years or so.

I think you make a good point with the driving test needing to be made harder.

I've always thought that lessons aren't there to teach you how to drive, they teach you how to pass your test and many of the things that you may encounter whilst driving aren't a part of your test. They might show up in the theory test, such as how to regain control of a car that is skidding, but knowing what to do and being able to remain calm and collected enough to do it in a practical situation is much different.

I liken it to CPR. I know how to perform CPR as I was taught in the boy scouts but when I needed that knowledge the most I'll confess for a few short seconds, which seemed like an eternity, my mind was a complete blank.
