Hello!
I've just received the dreaded text from Orange and like most of you I am not very happy!
1st I signed an agreement to pay a certain amount for my package for a certain period of time end of! There shouldn't be any price rises.
2nd In early 2009 the RPI fell to a negative figure of 0.4% I didn't then receive a text from orange saying they were going to decrease my monthly plan cost!
3rd Some of you are saying that its only a tiny increase, however be assured that other businesses and organisations will watch and wait to see what happens! If then every contractual agreement you have ie insurance, sky tv, gym membership, etc etc also then goes up by 5% we are all going to be paying a lot more for things we thought were set in stone!.0 -

Well I'd imagine most folk will know what number they called ,most phones keep the number called + details of time on a Menu if it cant be remembered offhand . Also all IT systems will have an Audit Trail Facilty so they can search for whichever person accessed your account at any time . It's the only way they can trace anyone who,for example, verbally abused etc a customer .0 -
I wonder what the situation is regarding cashback on line rentals?
I have 18 months free on a 24 month Mobiles.co.uk contract by redemption.0 -

I'd imagine you will still only get the total cashback you signed up to . I used to get all my phones by CB but for some reason stopped doing it ..Must have a look at that next time I'm due a phone0 -

I can post my initial email if you'd like.
I'm working on a reply that leaves no doubt as to their obligations0 -
Got my text today, but (and forgive me if this has been mentioned) I got my phone from the carphonewarehouse. I do not ever remover being given oranges t&c's to read should I want to before the purchase. I'm frantically checking emails and paperwork sent to me.
I'm a but annoyed cause I got my phone in late September 2011 on a 24 month contract. They must have known then of the price increase and should have notified me prior to agreeing to the contract!0 -

I've only just found this forum so apologies for being a day or 2 behind the fight!
I recieved my text on the 29th of November and immediately contacted Olaf Swantee (the CEO) by email. The saga goes on below:
Email 1:
The next day.. no response... so email two:
I then recieve a call from Chris in their CEO team. The long story short is that they wont budge and wont allow me to end my contract. So I fire off another e-mail...
So this is where I am currently... as and when I recieve a response I'll post it here for all to see. My personal expectation is to have to wait the 8 weeks then apply to CISAS.
The irony being that it would cost Orange more to fight the CISAS case than it would to release me from the remainder of my contract... but ho hum!!
I too have email him and await a response but have used your email template but replaced a few bits and have given links to the ofcom guidelines and quoted them as im 9 months into a 24 contract and they wont let me exit penalty free.0 -

Would you be happy to exit the contract if you had to send the phone back?0
