HHC now anyone? I'm starting with hoovering to warm up - I have a Miele cat and dog and it has been very good but bags are very expensive. I'd be tempted by a Dyson next time, I like a cylinder.

I have just noticed this thread...are you connected to the website set up by Flylady Marla Cilley and does she know about it?
    Otherwise isn't it copyright violation?

No, this has been covered before- because nothing has ever been copied from her website then we are fine. Cutting and pasting her lists would be an issue but we never have. If you are concerned then please contact the OS Board Guides.

Greenbee - thanks! I do like boxes of books.
JJ - I have a basic upright dyson, and a basic Henry. Four cats, two dogs. Henry is great for building dust but useless and hardwork for the dog hair, and the dyson is the reverse. Someone (Pigpen maybe?) swore by the Henry pet attachment but I have never tried it.

Husband is lime mortaring the newly exposed stone wall in the kitchen so struggling with what I can do :o. I did lots of S&S at work though if that counts.

I've done a load of washing and about 3 hours of shopping  some of it Christmas stuff, but some of it clothes, as packing up my summer clothes revealed a distinct shortage of winter ones (admittedly there would be a couple more pairs of jeans if I lost half a stone, but that's difficult to do during enforced inactivity... It's difficult to do anyway!). So I've spent a scary amount of money, but most of it was in the sales...

Some of the washing is in the TD, so now I need to sort the shopping out.
  • I've had a surprisingly productive day around minding a couple of 9 year-olds. Thankfully they get on well so seem to have had a marvellous time (DS's words). So to say thank you I treated DS to a BK tea.

Dropped another bag to the CS and found the man in red is visiting tomorrow evening so we'll wander down to say hello, and see if what we gave has already been snapped up! (unused Craft kits and nice stocking filler bits we found lurking about).

Tme for a coffee and filing I think, I have a paperwork avalanche...but it is at least only in one place now, so an improvement already..

Jue - I have a dyson cylinder, and it doesn't strain my back like cheaper ones have as the rigid bit of the hose is long enough for me to stand up straight and it retracts easily to deal with closer stuff. The turbine head picks up pet hair really well from carpets, and the other ones are fine for hard floors. They even have an attachment for dealing with the problem at source ;)
:rotfl:Love it! I can just see some of my regulars sitting still to be vacuumed.... NOT!!:D

Mr LW had the Dyson when I moved in with him, in 2002; it's still going strong. It does a grand job, but it's too heavy for me to manage nowadays - which is why he vacuums the whole bungalow at the weekend.:A We've also got an Electrolux hand-held, which is also bagless (I wouldn't go back to a vacuum that requires bags now), and I use that for spot-hoovering - very good for picking up dropped flour when I've been baking.:D

I didn't get round to posting today's progress before we went into town this afternoon, so I shall now rectify this:

Great new kaz - everything is crossed for them.

Christmas present sorting is done, so I now know where all the gaps are so I can get the rest of the shopping done... All cards are written and ready for posting tomorrow except three that I need to check/update addresses for.

Need to find supper (it's not salad weather, but there is salad that needs eating, and I CBA to do anything else) and sort out the washing to dry overnight. Then either a DVD or a bath and early night.

Made hot pot for tea - DD is a real fan, but not Lancashire Hotpot as she wont eat lamb, so I am cooking it 'off piste' until I come up with the perfect combination - and I think tonight's will be hard to beat TBH! Beef and carrots and onions, potato slices - bit of seasoning, job done! They ate it all anyway. Have also ordered the wool for the cardi I want to knit.
    Todays washing is ironed.

    Ooh Kaz - sounds promising!
