I should point out that this is mostly down to my mortgage being a base rate tracker (BB+0.95%) rather than any amazing effort on our part.

That said, we are saving as hard as possible! (We're keeping the mortgage payment at the very high rate it was set at initially for the time being and most of this is now 'overpayment' - just wiping out the capital).

    Cheers,

    Drew.

    No.19 update.
Paid in another £240 today taking the total for January to £2,590.
  • No. 24 Update

Well thats my very first overpayment made - £301 for January. Not quite as much as I'd hoped but thats mainly down to a Christmas with a bit of over indulgence , but hey ho, I'm not gonna get hung up about it, gotta live too right?! And by my calculations this should have just edged my mortgage daily interest to £14.9999 - next stop £14 a day! :(

Well done to all those who have paid off so much, although i think there are some secret bank robbers on here judging by the size of some of the monthly overpayments!

    Number 45 checking in...

For January, I managed £2041.92 which I am classing as "overpayments" (the majority of it has been put into savings to offset against the mortgage as I will be going on maternity leave later in the year (whoop whoop!).

February's figure won't be as pleasing as that, but at least January has been a good start to the year :D
Mortgage at largest: £250,000 _pale_ (March 2006)
    Current mortgage (May 2014): £152,927.10 :o
  • Hi Spriggle, last OP for Jan, my total for Jan is £1205, Thanks Tabb
    Forever house mortgage @ 2.59% July 15 £328,117.02 / May 2019 £278,651.21 OP's £13,500.68
  • Wow - lots of lovely overpayments in the lead up to the end of the month!! :needs a smiley for rubbing hands together: :)

Well done to Lixi, Tabbitha, Uzubairu and ironhide - all OPs have been recorded to the spreadsheet.

I also see that we are really close to pledging a total of £1,000,000 - just £57 short. So, I have upped my personal target by £57 :P

We are well on target to meet / beat the £1,000,000. Well done everyone!
