MFW 2012 #27 just reporting in

Well, we overpaid £80 with our mortgage payment and due to spending more than planned at the vets I don't think we'll manage anything else this month. So total Jan overpayment of £80

I did come in under budget on the grocery challenge by the princely sum of £3.31 :rotfl: but I'm putting that into the 'bulk buying' pot (it is in the off-set account though)

Seriously impressed with some of the overpayments on here, and I have been reading some of the diaries too for inspiration. I think I need to start a diary to make me accountable (and hopefully get me properly on track)

    Hi All,

Sorry been a bit busy and so away from the boards but I'm back now.

Ok so, originator amendment made for you and you are not a pain!

Waughc target adjusted, all the very best with getting it all paid off this year.

MoneyMission you have £120 Opd for January and February and you're well on target.

PaddyPaws we just have to do what we can so well done on any OP this month!

Kate1979 your OP from the googledoc is also noted, well done.

    See you all later,

  • Thanks to all the clever people who make spreadsheets and forms and whatnot.

I'm feeling a bit short of cash at the moment - I overspent at Christmas and in the sales, so it's good to have companions to get me back on the straight and narrow. It's going to be a bit of a struggle to keep overpaying while making sure I clear my credit card by the time the interest free period runs out in May, but it should be doable if I tighten my belt!

I always find it virtually impossible to make OPs in the first couple of months of the year put from the updates I see you have managed an OP of £150. :j I have have updated the speadsheet for you. Well done.
  • Well done everyone on all your over payments! :T You have kept me inspired. I have made my first over payment EVER this month and am feeling very pleased with myself :A I bought my house in Jan 2011 after never intending on moving (my fiance's bit on the side moved into 'our' house a few weeks before what was going to be our wedding) and had a very expensive end to 2010 and much of 2011. After reading these forums a lot towards the end of last year and discovering the mortgage over payment calculator, I discovered what a difference over paying makes :j My over payment for January is £1260 (#112). This includes a generous gift from my parents to help me on my way with over paying so this amount wont continue! Looking for more ways to cut back to continue increasing the savings pot and being able to make more overpayments next month so hoping to pick up some more tips from experienced MSErs

    xx

Well done LittlestFlower, sounds like you deserved something good after a painful year or so. All updated for you and good luck with your OPs for the rest of the year.
