  • Ha,

Done this in a slightly muddled up way. I'm doing various overpayments to the mortgage and separate savings accounts (better rates) in 2012 and I've already made my first 2012 overpayment of £12.59 to the mortgage account.

Done this today so that it clears tomorrow. Keen, I know :o

Although I do have a 2012 objective, I've not specified it just yet. Aim to do that tomorrow as some automated internal transfers kick in as I'll be able to report those too! Confused you? Hope not.

All the best everyone for your 2012 challenges. After doing the 2009, 2010 and 2011 challenges, here's hoping this 2012 challenge will be my last...

No worries - won't be staying that way for long. I'll probably state 2012 objective tomorrow. Finalising a set of 2012 objectives to put in diary...

Lets hope I can keep up the momentum - I think this is the first challenge where I'll struggle to hit my target ...

  • Hi everyone. I'd like to join the challenge too, please. I bought my house last January and am keen to have a year of overpaying now I've discovered the overpayment calculator. Please can you put me down for £4000. Thank you!

PS I've seen a few people with 'daily mortgage interest' in their signature? Do you have a link or a (simple) calculation to help me work this out? I think this will spur me on further :j
  • Hi LittlestFlower, welcome to the challenge. You are no. 112 and good luck on your journey.

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Thank you! After churning some crazy figures out of my calculator (getting the . in the right place and %&x round the right way....!!!!) I got to a daily interest of just under £30 as it stands. Firstly I was elated :jthat my mathematical capabilities were able to finally able to come up with a 2 digit figure (rather than a 4 digit figure) but that has quickly given way to ! Can this really be true??? This is the extra umph I need....off to overpay £30 right now :A

    Hi all,

Count me in please! Struggled in 2011 but I am determined to make a small dent in the mortgage this year. Shall aim for £1200.
