Hi everyone and a happy new year to you all.
I'd like to join in again, please. Our target this year is a very challenging £9434.00 as that will mean that we will end the year just into five figures. January's overpayment will be £1950.87.
Good luck everyone.
Thanks.

In January 2011 I owed £22,622 on my mortgage.
I checked my mortgage balance today and I owe £13,094.
That means I managed to pay off £9528 in 2011 by making overpayments of £430 each month.
Today I paid in £3000 to start off my new year and my monthly payment of £379 has yet to go in so I will be starting the year with a mortgage of under £10,000 - how amazing is that!:D
I've also upped my monthly overpayment to £550 for as long as I can manage it. (I may have to take a pay cut this year)
I am determined to be mortgage free this year - even if it takes until December. I reckon it's definitely do-able an really rather exciting as this will be 8 years early!0 -
Well done starflame. That's amazing!0

Know exactly where you're coming from starflame. Had to stretch our current mortgage back out to a 25 year term to make the payments affordable.
Should I finish this December, I'll have dropped from a 25 year term to just 8 years and 9 months
Certainly worth the push. Best of luck to you.

This is on top of a regular mortgage payment of £887, so that's around £1,750 a month to the mortgage alone.
ouch that's a lot of money :eek:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
