Afternoon Ladies
Happy Birthday Jools:beer:
Islandmaid If I sell anything like that I usually put it on an auction but put collection only. In the description just put its too heavy to post and cash on collection and put the area you are in. I've done this lots of times and always sold the item. Hope this helps.
I have a question for you lovely people. I have run out of dishwasher powder, does anyone know what I can use as a substitute for a few days until I can afford more???
Money is very tight going to be a very frugal Christmas for us. DH is owed a few thousand and the guy seems to have done a bunk, not answering his phone:mad: just hope he can sleep at night.
So don't know where the money is coming from to pay bills or buy the last few Christmas pressies. Guess we will just have to manage but it makes me so mad:mad:
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get the job at least things will then be easier after ChristmasStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hello fellow OS'ers
Hugs to Hester - it's so frustrating when these things are completely out of our control. And JackieG - life would be so much easier with instructions for things like this. My thoughts are with you both. Hugs and spoons to anyone in need...
I've been poorly for the last few days, bad reaction to my flu jab so the doc thinks, hence the radio silence from me. Today has been the first day I've been properly up and about, and boy, am I making the most of it (without overdoing it, of course!).
DH and I were away last weekend and didn't get round to doing a proper shop, so have had a very unhealthy week; I think this was the last straw for my immune system which laid down and let the flu vaccine take hold. So I have been in bed since Thursday.
That said, today I've got up, got myself together and have made a huge pan of broth (which will be frozen in part and will suffice for lunches this week) and a home made apple crumble for tonight's dessert. DH is making a Sunday roast as we speak and the kiddies are already washed and in their PJ's ready for bed. :T
Busy week ahead for me - I'm having my annual carpet clean on Wednesday, DD is off school (strikes), and I am at the dentist. The pet rabbit is going in for what the vet described as gender re-assignment surgery on Weds too (we found out earlier this week that the young bunny is a 'he' not a 'she'!!). Also, I'm hoping that the ebay auction I had that ended on Friday will be collected soon - no contact from the winning bidder yet, but I suppose there is still time....
Christmas shopping was done online last Monday so is arriving in dribs and drabs at the moment. Think I'll have a big wrapping session soon, just a few more to get and/or collect.
Very shocking news about Gary Speed today; so tragic that a person feels it is the only way out, and unspeakably sad for those left behindmy thoughts are very much with his family and friends.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hi Julie,
Thanks for the advice - as my name suggests i,m on an Island, so might limit my 'audience' but worth a try.
As for the dishwasher, I have used a tiny bit of WUL before, seemed ok, but please only a tad or you,ll be joining Lou in the soggy slipper club LOLNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Jools happy birthday
Lou hey MY mood is here, there and everywhere. Was on a real downer earlier but perked up a bit nowhope DS is better soon, my DD had raging temp a few weeks ago but TBH I sometimes think it's better not to keep dozing them in order for the temperature to do it's job of killing the virus.
Camelot well done on your £ savings :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Have just scoffed sirloin steak, chunky chips, mushrooms and onions, allegedly there is sticky toffee pudding for afters if someone makes it, DD has done the dishes and DS is back from MIL's and on line applying for a job- shock may kill me!
I am sitting with a large glass of posh red wine MIL gave me, along with some lovely flowers, and a box of choccies I will recycle into someone's crimbo prezzie as I dont eat chocolate! Peace reigns for now, and will enjoy it while it lasts, now where's that book..............RIP Iain

Evening all,
Was thinking on my drive home this morning that I am really so lucky, the sea sparkling on my right and the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance ahead and the sun shining. The night shift may be hard but that makes it worth it, especially early on a sunday morning when there's almost only me on the road.
Had a good sleep today, must be the relief of being of leave for 12 days now!!Although have busy three days now beofre going to NY on Thurs, dentist and taking mum shopping tomorrow, hairdressers and work 1-5 Tues (only getting time back but need it as no time in lieu left) then last minute shopping and washing for hols and stocking up for DH and the moggies on Weds.
It is so sad about Gary Speed. I can't imagine how bad he must have felt to feel that that was the only choice, his poor family.
I hope that all on here who have worries find an answer and send my hugs to everyone.
