Hi, sorry if info has already been posted but has anyone had any luck getting money back from sub-prime mortgage lenders such as First National or GE money?

I applied after reading the article last week, had reply from Northern Rock by the weekend so expecting my refund this week! Worked out it was only £75 but better in my pocket than theirs!

just like to say thank you for advice. i telephone nat west home loans and they said i would receive £140 straight into my bank account Thank you . Then contacted birmingham midshires (rbos) who said there were timescales and that i was out of date. i explained the ruling was only recently made and that when i went with the society and had believed that they were a society that had standards and principles and i did not expect to get "reppied off" by them. they did not like that and have said they will now write to me. I feel there should be no timescale - they stolen our money and should pay it back!!0

Just to say thanks for the advice - we've just got back just over a hundred quid from the C & G within 5 days - they even spotted my mistake in the calculation and have given us more money than we expected! However they have been a bit slower to respond to our claim for the MEAF refund for an earlier remortgage, so we're still waiting to hear on that - fingers crossed.
As a student, I need all the money I can get many hands on, so I suppose you could say:
