Thanks LG. I'm really going to need some of that serious chilling out time! I feel quite drained so some sunshine and rest couldn't be more appreciated.0

I had a look through my finances today and printed off a statement and all is in order. This is good for me soon after payday as that's when all my bills fly out and I have struggled to keep on top of things.
I've signed up on the MFiT (3) challenge and have my number! This won't start until January, but it's good to know that the timings are great and I'm on there. My challenge is to pay my full mortgage off in the 3 years which, under today's circumstances is very doable (although, I don't intend to remain on todays' circumstances so may have thrown a big challenge spanner into the works, but am determined to meet this goal).
Tonight I've been working on some mystery shopping assignments which I was nervous to do initially, but feeling more comfortable now. That's a little more money to the pot and some shopping paid for too. I have 2 more to do which I think I'll do tomorrow. After my holiday I need to set some time aside for completing more surveys and just generally getting organised in what extra things I do for vouchers etc. I'd like to maximise my time and effort versus rewards.
I had my meal and chat with A last night! I think I'd built my hopes up quite considerably as I hardly slept the night before and just kept going through what he may want to talk to me about. Well, the rehearsals in your head rarely match real life, and I think that even our friendship is also likely to disintegrate now. He was very vague with me about what he wanted to offer, and it was all a bit pointless and difficult. The end result was me sitting alone on the train home wondering what had hit me and why he'd asked to see me! So, onwards and upwards, and more reason to make some changes in my life regarding my social life and just generally concentrating on me.
Tomorrow is Paralympic Athletics day and I'm really looking forward to that. We've decided to get there early and have breakfast while we wait for the park to open at 9am. Then our athletics sessions starts at 10am until 1pm. Very excited.
I'm feeling quite done in now. I hope everyone's having a good day.0 -

Aren't trains the loneliest of places at times like that? For my tuppence-worth, I think you're right to concentrate on yourself. It doesn't need to be at the expense of good matters or consideration of others - but I think we often spend so much time putting others first, that we forget who we are and what WE want from situations like that meal. And if we don't know what we want, then it's almost impossible to come out happy. So, yay you - and all power to your 'me' elbow.

Thanks Nora. That train journey felt very empty! I do agree that we can easily forget who we are too!

Well my holiday starts tomorrow lunchtime. I'm really looking forward to getting away from "home" and everything that entails and just relaxing in the sun for a week, in a place I know and am comfortable in.
The Paralympics was outstanding. It's quite a mish mash of lots of different things going on with long jump, javelin and some running events happening at the same time. We were sat in the press seats right by the winning line. How I blagged such great seats (with a table and comfy chair) I have no idea, but very happy with them. There were blind long jumpers the other side of the stadium, but as they need total silence when they take their turn, due to needing to hear their guides standing by the line they jump from, all focus was on them. Wow!!!! They did brilliantly. I think there was one missed jump out of all of them having 3 rounds, and when you think most of them can't see a thing (they also wear blackout masks), it's just incredible that they can run in a straight enough line and take a leap as far as they do.
There were some blind runners too with guides. I could barely see them finish as my eyes were so teared up!!! Wow!!!
We had a little walk around the park too, but with the sun beating down so hard and the massive crowds I wanted to leave before I felt like I needed to get out of there! So I feel really blessed that I got to both the olympics and paralympics and feel a bit flat that it's going to be over in a day!
Today I've been running around blitzing my house and getting my online things done like uploading shop and scan and I still have 2 mystery shopping reports to do. They won't take long though so I'll get them done shortly.
I'm sure I'll be back on later to relax a bit and catch up on a few diaries. I tend to be quite buzzy the day before a holiday!
I hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine we're getting! x0 -
Sorry to hear about the meal out with A.
What a disappointment. I hope the Paralympics sort of made up for it a bit - the parts I've seen were very impressive, and what a good place to get yourself a seat!
And before you go - happy holibobs! Have some ice cream for me and come back looking revoltingly relaxed and healthy. It will be lovely.

Back from my holidays - already!!! That week went fast!
I was actually pretty MSE on my holiday too. I only spent what I'd taken and budgeted for and also didn't have that panic at extra luggage weight or room!
It was a lovely week. The sun was out most of the week, and the only day it wasn't was a bit of a relief from the humidity. We took a boat trip that day too which was perfect as hardly anyone seemed to want to go out on the choppy waters so there was no fighting for a good seat.
But I'm back now and off today as have a lot of things to get done. I've submitted 2 mystery shops already but now need to get my hair done as it's looking halloween-esque today!
I will hopefully catch up with diaries at some point today, but lots of washing and ironing and preparing for work tomorrow to fit in too.
How lovely that the sun is still peeking through today.0 -
Welcome back from your hols! I love boat trips... don't mind if the boat is a bit rocky.
I'm glad you had a good break.
Good for you on staying in budget (and having the budgetted money to do it with). It makes quite a difference to come back and not have to think you're still paying for it.
Enjoy your sunshine, and hopefully hair/ laundry/ everything will all go to plan.Miggy

Hi Miggy,
All went to plan on Monday. I did do a lot of running around, but the weather was great and I'm very happy with my hair so a productive and successful day!0
