I'm feeling quite motivated this morning for the long weekend ahead. I've made a list of things I'd like to achieve this weekend, some a little out of the ordinary for me but I'm feeling like my life is a little stale these days so want to shake things up a little. Small steps to start with.
Although money is tight until I get paid next Thursday so everything has to be as cheap as possible but that's not going to cause a problem.
I've seen a new cycle route from the station to near my house so I'm going to check that out to see how safe it looks and how long it takes. Although if it's a pretty route and takes an extra 5-10 minutes I won't care. It's the safety element that's most important.
I'd like to get a fair amount of cycle time in this weekend as I need to get my lower back more accustomed to the journey as that's what puts me off. Going from 0 miles to 17 all in one go is a bit of a shock to my lower back.
Other than that a lot of tasks this weekend are around researching things for the launch of my business in October, and getting my home in tip top condition ready for the onslaught of decorating required. So organisation is the key to this weekend.
I've noticed a difference in my financial ways when I'm not updating my diary each day too. Those old spend urges are bounding through, so I'll try to keep my updates shorter, but definitely need them to be regular again.
Happy Friday everyone, and here's to a long bank holiday weekendx

Well I've logged on to upload my shop and scan so thought I could also update my diary.
Yesterday I got up and managed to put in a load of washing and give the bathroom a tidy before the sun came out enough for me to head off on my bike. I managed to find the route I was hoping to really easily. It's such a pretty route along the sea wall and around lots of greenery. I'm not sure how it would be in the dark winter months as there was no lighting, but in the lighter evenings I think it will be a good diversion. I think it adds around 3 miles to my journey, but being off the road and with the views you get I don't think I'll notice.
On the way back I popped in to see my Mum as she's off for a week's cruise from today. So I feel my daughter duties are also up to date.
Today I've been more homely. I've cleared out and organised my bike cave and have finally tackled the dining room. There are some decorating things in there for when I'm ready to get that room done, but other than that it's all dining room things.
Then I tackled a double kitchen cupboard and have probably removed 50% of things from there mainly for a boot sale. A few things I found of any real value have been added to the free listing eBay this evening.
So, tomorrow I think will be another bike ride and general blitzing of housework. I also need to get some food shopping, file some bills away and get out to visit a few more places. But overall I'm happy with the amount I've managed to accomplish so far this weekend and that I have some items on sale again too.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. x0 -
My DM promptly announced yesterday on the phone she doesn't need me for daughterly duties.......Argh!!!
Talk about slap in the face? What am I supposed to do now when she moans and bleats.....put the phone down? Or when she's acting like a little girl?
Even worse she said she hadn't needed me for daughterly duties since Dad died (11 years ago) so like hence when she wanted to do something it didn't matter how it affected me

Ahh Erme that must have been a painful blow.
I think sometimes those closest to us say things just for the reaction. On reading your thread and your comments on other's threads I think she has needed you for daughterly duties, and I think you've been a good daughter to her too, so I guess just carry on doing what you're doing and know in yourself you're being a good person?0 -
I checked my post before I left this morning and my Boots voucher from VO has arrived. So that's been put away safely to help me through Christmas. So far I have around £30 in Tesco vouchers and this £10 boots one. The rest of the year may need a little push on surveys to get a few more vouchers.
I've been set a couple of MS tasks too, which are £3.50 each so I'll get those done tonight or tomorrow.
Last night I managed to get athletics tickets for the paralympics. I'm so excited. I'd like to add Orbit tickets or another event too if I can, but that depends on price. I'll get half of what I've paid out back though, and the olympic tickets have been surprisingly reasonable.
I also managed to lose 4lb this weekend, just by drinking lots more squash and being careful about how much I'm eating. So I really feel this was a good productive weekend.
I bought a bottle of squash on the way in to work today too so that I keep up the good work.
Well, I have a very busy day ahead so best get on. I hope everyone had a great weekend. x0 -

Thanks LG. I'm actually having a major rethink on the fast track to mortgage free, but I can't reveal too much at the moment. Could potentially be quite exciting/interesting for me if I find the guts to take the steps I'll need to.
How are you feeling now there's no intense studying? As relieved as I used to feel, there would also be a little flatness on no longer having that focus. I hope you're not feeling that and are feeling elated to have your time back.0 -
Ooh Erme, the infection sounds nasty. I hope the pencillin is working it's magic on you? How are you feeling now?
I'll pop along to your diary in the morning to have a proper catch up.0 -
It was payday for me on Friday!!! YAY!!! Good and bad of that is that I didn't feel very well at all, but I didn't spend any money, so there's the upside of being poorly!!!
So, today I withdrew my daily budget and that's safely tucked away. I find I work much better with a specified daily amount than trying to survive on a specific amount over a specific time. I like that daily £10 going into my purse.
I am going to work on NSD's as much as possible this month, which shouldn't be major as I have budgeted for all spends outside daily requirements.
I've uploaded my shop and scan again, and have also had 3 items end on eBay. 2 of which sold. One went for asking price and the other sold for £30 which is 3 times more than I originally asked for. So very happy there. One has paid already and the other is pay on collection.
Unfortunately I can't make the most of the free listing week on eBay as I'm going on holiday next Sunday and won't be able to post things. I know I can create 3 day listings, but I'd rather have a clear week and not have to worry about them paying on time etc. It just gets a bit stressful for me if I have a deadline, even if I add the details in the listing. Based on some of the questions I get asked I don't think people really absorb what's written.
So, yes, I'm off on holiday next Sunday for a week, which reminds me that I need to request an airport code as I'd like to have a leisurely wait for the flight as it's in the evening. I also have a lot to think about as I'm trying to work out if quality of life and smaller mortgage overpayments is the way for me to go. I think I'll use the holiday to really think that through, although that gives quality of life a slightly unbiased advantage as things always have that sort of feel on holiday.
A has asked to talk to me this week too, so we're meeting up for dinner on Wednesday. I'm really bad at "those" chats, but I'll see what he has to say before I start worrying about things.
Well, that's my update. I think I should probably get myself off to bed shortly.0
