So, what has been going on since I last updated? Not a great deal really. I did go out for my work evening, but I was sat by my boss and he will only talk about work and himself (generally both) so it could have been better. It wasn't a rubbish evening though and the food was great and the service was outstanding so I'm glad that I went. I also got to see my favourite friend of all as we met each other through work, so that was a bonus.

I've tried to keep my head down a bit other than that night out as I did do a little off-roading! I bought myself a lovely glittery ring which used up the rest of my daily allowance for the week and I've broken into next week's money to stay on top. It's nothing major and I can catch up by cycling to and from work which will be hard, but it will be a lesson in what happens when I let feelings dictate my spending. Ha ha, reading that back I sound like I'm being hard on myself. I'm not really. My trouble has been that I've always felt I deserve to buy myself the thing I want and there are no consequences. This way I show there will be consequences. I could have taken the ring back but it's all pink and sparkly and I really want to keep it, so if I don't take it back I need to find the money from somewhere else. In an emergency I could break into the ebay fund, but I don't want to do that either. So the only other option is to grab the money back from my commuting.

Speaking of online money, I've sold 4 cycling tops and 3 normal tops this week along with 2 cycle tights. I took off the P&P prices and the bids just went up and up. Before I was lucky to get one person bidding, but now I'm getting a small battle going on for them. I've also been very lucky so far in the winning bidders being fair and good ebayers and leaving lovely feedback.

I have a few more books to put online but I think they'll need to wait until next week as I'm trekking to and from the post office and not getting a chance to do anything else. So I'll have a break from selling this week and will just get things together and pictures taken ready to start uploading again next week.

I finally received my business application form and the details they've filled in for me aren't true! I told the fella on the phone about my true credit history and he's put that I have no adverse credit! But I do! So I've got to make arrangements to go into the bank with ID and I've decided to phone and make an appointment and explain to them in person with the application in front of us. I also said I won't need any credit whatsoever but he's put me down with a £10,000 credit card request. I feel a little frustrated by this as I'm assuming he'll get commission if I take these items, but I'm likely to get my application refused if I request them! He really sounded like someone who was listening and understood me, although if it is about commission then that may have been the case but he decided to make the pot a little sweeter for himself? Anyway, I can sort that out in the week.

This update is getting quite big without me saying much! I have avoided spending any more money this weekend and the 99p shop has enabled me to have something to upload to shop and scan!

Ooh, I got accepted as a savvy circle tester! My package arrived yesterday and I'm very excited. People who know me laugh at my tester bottles in my house, but I love doing it.

Anyway, I'll have a catch up on other's diaries today and tomorrow but should put the bins out quickly first.

I hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend. x

Yay to glittery rings! And the extra cycling will be good too. :)

It's odd about the form with the wrong details. Good for you not letting it throw you off track though.

What's the savvy circle testing? I don't think it's something I ought to do as I have an addiction to small containers and need to be stopped from amassing them, but it sounds fun! I remember when my Mum was an Avon rep - I loved all the sample perfumes and lippy. ;)

  • The ring sounds lovely, I love anything that is glittery or sparkley!

Thats cheeky re your application, sounds like he was trying to meet targets/bonus. The bank in person may well still attempt to upsell, but just stick to your guns.

Good luck with the cycling to & from work!

If he's effectively selling you a product without your consent, don't you have some sort of come-back? (Or have I just read too much about PPI?)

The extra cycling is in a conspiracy to finish me off! I'm really struggling again after being off the bike a few weeks. It won't take long to get speeds and stamina back though - I hope!

The savvy circle testing is for limescale remover. My only fear is that it's only the limescale keeping my taps and kettle together!!! :D There's a forum and board and everything. It's all very thorough!

I'm addicted to small containers. Well, all containers really. I have to really work hard not to keep empty tubs and pots too! I occassionally watch those hoarder shows and have to turn over as it gets too cringeworthy for me and how I can be!!!!:o

Thank you for the cycling luck. Sadly I think I need it at the moment! I think the 2 way ride may be a week or two away though.

Who knew all that was behind a bit of limescale remover?! However, having descaled the bathroom today and the dishwasher yesterday I can appreciate it's important. I wonder howmuch of mine is being held together by limescale too? :D

My name is Miggy and I'm a container hoarder. :D Oh, I love the little things! I have just noticed too what great design goes into glass continers - nothing unusual, just things we get from the supermarket with coffee or pasta sauce in. I have a little shelf for my glass containers already so I dare not branch out into any more but with more products now available in packaging designed to minimise use of materials, I wonder if these may become rare and collectable?

    However, I daren't start collecting!

Well, I phoned the bank yesterday regarding this mis-filled in application form and the fella who answered the phone was so abrupt with me! He asked me all sorts of questions which I had to ask for the layman version and I could hear him getting frustrated with me. I ended up saying "I apologise that I don't know how to do your job as well as you do, but if you could just talk to me as someone without banking experience I think this conversation would be a little easier for us both". He paused for about 3 seconds and then carried on regardless telling me that the application was fine as it was filled in and to just send it in! Until I said "So, it's ok to lie on my application form then?" and that changed everything. So the upshot is that I have to type up an explanation of the details I want taken into consideration and add that to the application form. It's basically that I have 2 old ccj's still showing on my credit report. I have paid them both but I never contacted the companies to get the ccj listing off as I didn't feel it would impove my credit as I was still in dire straits at the time. They've each got about 8 months left until they fall off naturally anyway and only amount to about £1200 but I want my application to be completely honest. PHEW!

I've finally reconcilled my phone app with my online banking and that's all clean again. I've also just had an email from Quidco stating an almost £70 payout for my energy and netflix! I'm bouncing with excitment at that one!

Last week I think I mentioned that I've gone totally over budget to the tune of spending this week's budget too. I had around £10 to last me the week or break into next week's funds! I'm so pleased with how well I've done too! I haven't bought anything except total essentials, so I only need to dip into £10 from next week! That's just 1 NSD day I'll need next week now and I'm up to date. I'm so glad I did it too as it's given me the confidence to see that when I slip up I don't need to give up! It hasn't been comfortable so it's not a position I want to be in again, but if it happens I'll survive somehow.

I had originally started today's update thinking I was going to go off on a rant tangent, but having written the good stuff down I'm far needing a rant now! Wooh! :D

Right, I need to do some work and then catch up on other diaries tonight while typing up my "I regret my debt" letter to the bank!

Have a good day everyone! x

You would have thought banks would have grown out of irresponsible form filling after they lent so much money that people couldn't afford to pay back... good for you for standing up to him, he doesn't sound like the right person to be dealing with the public from what you've said.

Yay to £70 payout! Great news. :)

Well done too for reining in the budget and showing it who's boss. It's amazing what we can do when we have to (but nice to get back to not being so stretched afterwards).

Thanks Miggy! I really feel like I'm showing it who's boss, but I'm also showing me that I can be the boss of it and not the other way around and that's very exciting for me.

Unfortunately the lending corporations are only as good as the person you deal with and as they're motivated by their commissions and bonuses they're pushing stuff along. The only problem is, if I were to apply for all the things they want me to I'd be refused and they'd still get nothing! Not great logic on their part when I've told them that my credit report doesn't look like as healthy as it should.

The £70 hit my account today and it's gone straight off to my "unexpected income" account which is looking mighty healthy already with my ebay and amazon booty.

I'll be along to catch up with your news shortly.
