I love reading your diary, you sound so full of energy and motivation. I need some of that to rub off on me, I feel like I have just been plodding on lately
I hope you have a fantastic weekend when you go away this weekend and a lovely week off workSometimes just not having to go to work is the best kind of holiday.
And, you are an ebay fiend at the moment. Hope they sell well for you.
You are doing so well, pass some of that energy my way will you???
Have a great day x
Not waking in the dark with a harsh alarm will definitely feel like a holiday! The weather is meant to be nice too, so it's just feeling better and better.
You're more than welcome to share this energy. I'm sure I currently have enough to go round. x0 -

You always come across motivated on here, but that last post was amazing!
I have fond memories of my work desk, it was always cluttered with things to do, but when I blitzed it all, it gave me a real push the next day, as though it renewed my energy.
Good luck with your project x
Thank you DF, that's such a nice boost.
I can get a little too involved in what I'm doing to keep my work area clear, but it's worth the investment in time to clear it up once a week or so.
I think I may need that luck with this particular project, thank you. x0 -
Clearing my desk yesterday had the required effect today. It felt nice walking into the room and being able to see so much wood rather than bundles of paper and scribbled notes. This morning I sat and went through all the pages of handwritten notes from different meetings and got them in order both on the machine and in my head. There were a couple of things I needed to push on with that had slipped my mind, so it was nice to feel back in control before I was reminded or asked about things.
One of the guys I work with is leaving next week so we went through a couple of things that he's been doing, which is another piece of software I'll be learning and using a lot now. Normally I'd see that as another interruption into my day and yet more things to learn, but I am in IT and that is part of the job so I need to just get on with it, and I feel like I want to now as well.
Tonight when I got in I felt quite tired. I think that's due to eating too much bread today, so I sat for half an hour psyching up and then went for it. So tonight I have managed to find a few more items to put in the Cash4clothes bag. I've also added 3 stationery items onto ebay and I found an old cordless phone I used to use, but replaced as I was bored with it! So that is currently on charge so that I can delete the numbers that are programmed in and put it up for sale. I'll take that along to cash converters too as I don't think the battery life is particularly great on it either.
Also, while I was going through my documentation I came across a bank account I'd forgotten about(you see why I need this place) but I can only access it online! I remember setting up online details in 2007 but wasn't sure I'd be able to remember the security stuff required to access it. Well, I did! So I've set it up to accept payments from my current account (oddly you have to create an agreement for paying in and transferring out) and will decide what to do with that account in due course. I'm thinking I may transfer the odd pennies in my current account over to that account each day when I check my main online banking!
I've also started the list of things I NEED to do while I'm off next week. This includes popping to the bank to set up a business account and visiting the advertisers with all of the gumpf I've created. I also need to add my technical books that I no longer require online. There are a few more things, but my list is downstairs and I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm excited to be pushing forward to the state of advertising now.
Lastly, this evening I have started a "crafts" box. A while back I really wanted to start creating my own cards and I bought so much stuff for it. But as cards are so cheap these days I've lost interest in it. What I do like to do is wrap presents in plain paper (even if it's plain wallpaper strips leftover from past decorating) and add pretty stickers and gems onto the paper and card envelope. It's a sort of trademark for me now and all of my friends and family genuinely love it. Even to the point that they take off the stickers and add them to mirrors or mini kitchen appliances etc. So, I want all of these craft items in one easy to get to place as there are piles of stuff in different rooms which I'm now gathering up and adding to a really nice box. These are boxes I bought a few years ago which are so pretty but still in their original packaging. I'm so pleased I bought them all that time ago as they're lovely, sturdy and really useful and I've not had to spend anything now on them.
The drinks I thought were happening on Friday lunchtime are now on Friday evening. I finish work 3 hours before they start and am away the next day so I don't think I'll be able to make it. The lunchtime drinks were for us close colleagues to say goodbye as none of us can really do the evening so it's a bit of a shame he doesn't want to do that. Should we be taking a hint that he's leaving and won't have drinks with us???
But the bonus there is that I'll use that money for shopping instead of going to the pub.
Another NSD today. I'd best go and update my sig as there's a few more to add to that.
I hope everyone is having a nice evening. I'll catch up on diaries as soon as I can. Tomorrow lunchtime hopefully. xx0 -

I don't know why this happens but I think I've heard mention of it elsewhere so we aren't only ones.
Tell you what - let's at least get down to those last ten pounds even if we don't make it all the way!Miggy

Well I've had a breather this evening as I'm only just getting in now after getting my hair sorted tonight, although I doubt I'll keep up the hurricane approach too many nights in a row!
Today I had a look at Quidco to see if I had any balance, expecting to see around £1.25 in there and I have just over £55. Not really sure I am eligible so maybe it'll get "corrected" but hopefully it won't.
Other than hair already budgeted for I had a low spend day today as I needed a few shopping items. I've just had a message from one of the lads at work saying he's prepared way too much lunch for tomorrow and will I help him out by taking some! Something tells me my frugal approach at work may be seen as "so poor she can't eat" so maybe that's why I'm being offered food with 15hrs notice?:) He did give me his lunch last week when he'd planned to go to a restaurant type place at the last minute but didn't want his food wasted and I did tell him how lovely the food was, so it's hopefully and most likely to be just that, but it is making me smile thinking that he's making extra lunch to make sure I eat. I'm not skinny though so it's probably pushing it to think I'm not eating enough!!!:D

This chap isn't single, is he?
And how did your hair appointments go? I hope you're happy with the results!
Good to hear about the extra from Quidco - was it legit? Again - I hope so!Miggy

Hi Miggy,
I'm not sure it's so much about him being single or not as I don't get the impression he has feelings, but I've sort of taken him under my wing at work so I think it's his way of showing appreciation for that? He's half my age too! Eek!
Hair appointments both went well. I'm very happy with how they both did and will definitely going back to the stylist again! Thank you for asking! The one bad thing working in such a male environment is that no one has even appeared to notice! My hair is totally different to how it's ever been and there's absolutely no recognition of it in them! I guess that's better than the "Oh my goodness, what happened????" statements I could have received.
Quidco is still showing the funds, I just keep thinking it'll be retracted. I got the cashback from changing energy supplier but I only stayed with them for a month which is why I'm surprised to have received the award. I'm not knocking it, but I'm too nervous to expect it.0 -
Last night was another quiet one as I didn't get in until late again and had to rush around doing washing and getting things ready for the final packing tonight.
Another of my items has a bid on it, so I will package that up tonight ready for adding the address label to it when I'm home on Monday and getting that sent straight away. Everything else has at least 1 watcher so I'm hoping that as they're just on 99p they will attract at least one bid each. It would be great to send those to homes where they'll get used rather than sitting taking up space at my house.
I've checked my bank account and although I would have liked more money to fritter on my birthday I'm also pleased that I can't have a spend binge. Having said that, I've not done anything with the money that is in the old account I found, so I think that deep down I don't really want to go and waste any money otherwise I'd have transferred that to an account I can access from an ATM.
What I have done though is made a list of things I need which I can get if we go into town to do some shopping. I don't want to follow my friend around while she buys clothes and perfumes etc so over the last couple of months I've not bought any of the more luxury toiletry items I can't give up, so I have put aside enough money to get them and will feel as much excitement restocking them as I would buying a pair of shoes on an impulse buy. Plus, I won't get the guilt feelings afterwards.
Ooh, just had another email to say that he's brought me lunch in again! So, next week I need to think of something I can do or get him to show my appreciation when I'm back in the office after my week off. Hmm! If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful.
I got my first birthday card today! I don't open anything until the actual day but I love sitting here looking at a card envelope with my name on it. Birthdays are still really exciting for me, at least the build up to a birthday is.
Tonight I need to get back into whirlwind mode as I'd like to add a couple more things onto ebay as well as pack and generally be ready to go for tomorrow. I hate rushing around on the morning I'm away and so I refuse to do that tonight. Watch this space! If I manage it it'll be my first time, but that was before signing up to MSE!!!!0 -
Ah thats nice of him Muffin. Men do like compliments & love to feel a bit needed, so I suspect it was you complimenting the first lot that is making it regular!
I have no idea what you could do as a thank you, do you have coffee breaks? Could you get his coffee on the day he does lunch? Or treat him to a cake - little one, I think supermarkets do 2 cream cakes for 99p (well might have gone up since I last looked!)
What day is your birthday?40 to go0 -
Thank you for the ideas DF. I may even make some HM cookies and bring those in for him as I feel a bit like I need to make something personal. I'm off for a week so plenty of time to think about it. It'll be nice for him with me being away too as I don't want him to feel obliged at giving me food.
My birthday is on Sunday! I'm so excited.
Well, I'm still at work so will post again tonight. I'm just "looking busy" now as I can't start anything new and all loose ends are tied.
