Riiight, i'm getting hacked off and a wee bit worried now. Where do people disappear to for five hours with no car, no phone when they have no friends or family in the area and they are only supposed to be getting a battery?!

  • Am late chiming in today. Hugs to all who're having a hard time.

Got a tax rebate yesterday and then heard that my sister's having a rotten time. She lives at the other end of the country - about as far as it is possible to go! - so I decided to use some of the money to send a wee care package so went into town this morning to get the new part of the gift to add to the bits I had in the house. Got soaked.

Came home, packaged gifts and went back out to Post Office. Got soaked.

Came home, lifted supplies needed for pet-sitting job and went back out to do that. Got soaked. (Are you seeing a pattern?) Matters were not improved by the white van driver who (apparently deliberately!) splashed me with puddle-water. However, at least after that I realised it wasn't possible for me to get any wetter so I might as well stop caring.

Am now home and wrapped up in furry jammies with a hot water battle. William-cat insisted on going out at about 3:30pm and is now out past his curfew (the street lights) but I am resisting the urge to get dressed, go out and locate him. He's not the brightest wee soul and is probably sitting under a bush feeling sorry for himself but he knows the way home! Sammy is much more intelligent - he went for a pee earlier on and is now asleep in the bottom of the airing cupboard. I wonder if there's room in there for me too?

He doesn't drink or gamble, he was supposed to get this battery done so we could go out in the car while it was still light at about 2pm:mad:
