Molly hope you can say farewell to your car. You said your car used to be the rest room "and rest room" In America that means toilet :rotfl: Sold mine last month after having it for 7 years. It can be hard to part with them... But the new one is better.
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well I have to say that when I was stuck in the snow for 8 hours quite a few years back I did use my car in that sense, but luckily I had an old lunch box which served it's purpose and was never used again after. I used to sleep in my car prior to driving home after a long night and it was always very comfy.

Disastrous morning but Im aware it's not half as bad as what some people are going through. Sold my car for pennies (literally:(). Then frantic phone calls from DS2 as he found out his bank account had been hacked and he had lost all his birthday money - hundreds of pounds:eek::eek::eek: He was in tears and so was I when I was told by NatWest that their fraud systems were down and there was absolutely NOTHING they could do. It is still down but we took the remainder of his money out before his card was cancelled, so no more damage can be done. Im so angry and upset for him - yes it is obviously fraud and he will get his money back but it was his birthday money and so has wiped his lovely post birthday smile off his face.

    Afternoon all
Still wet and windy here, and the atmosphere Chez jools is more than a tad frosty. DS has announced that since dad is never off his back ( as in has the occasional rant that he is at college part time, hasn't bothered to look for a part time job cos " I'm not stacking shelves ", and does nothing in the house ), he plans to move into his friend's house on Monday. OH has tried to explain that adult life involves work, and doing a few things around the house isnt much to ask as he lives here for nothing and we give him money every day, and then told him if he wants to leave we cant stop him as he's 16 so to feel free, remembering to leave all the gagetry behind in the room as we bought it all! DS has gone to MIL's for the night to contemplate, and cos she will give him money! I'm not speaking to OH so have emtied the ironing basket in a temper. Oh happy days!!!
Cant wait for tomorrows instalment, aint I in for a happy birthday! No doubt will have MIL on the phone moaning at me soon as well. Is it too early for a glass of wine?????

Afternoon everyone, it's been a bit of a weird few days. Thursday night OH rocked up at 10pm in a car... it's an old banger from a relative but he sorted the insurance etc on the night. Today he decides it needs a new battery (even though MOT said it's fine and he knows nothing about cars) so goes to get one but leaves his phone and car at mine! He said he would be about 1-1.5hrs so I figure I'll wait until he gets back before I go to the post office and library as he doesn't have keys to get in. He's now been gone over three hours and I am dreaming up ways to kill him
I'm now going to have a bath and if he turns up he can wait outside until I'm finished.

Hester - That makes me mad when employers do that because they can get rid of people without paying redundancy

Jools ....I would let DS go and as you DH says he will have to leave everything that you paid for at home, how does he expect his friends parents to keep him on fresh air too?
Odds are that he will be home within a fortnight when he learns that the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.
My DD threatened to do that when she was fourteen... so I packed her bag for her and left it in the porch she found it when she came home from school and was home the same night after an apology.

Molly I would make a complaint to the financial ombudsman, it is not good when a bank can't keep up its fraud systems if they are down, they should have back ups

well bread is proving and the house is neat and tidy so I am off for an hour's nap x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Afternoon people,

Hugs to all who are struggling to cope with tough times for whatever reason.

Did some Lidl shopping to-day which should see us well into December....managed to get various rugs and animal beds into WM....very windy here so will probably just put them over stairs to dry....not in humour to follow them to motorway over the fields!

Lamb chops with turnip (swede), onions, potatoes and white sauce, and rest of crumble, custard and maybe ice-cream to follow.

Knitting will take up rest of the day, might make the Christmas cake as fruit has been soaking for a couple of days, DGS 2 will be here to-night so might wait until he comes to get it going, he loves helping.

Lou...wonderful to hear you sound so 'up' hope the day goes well for you all.

    JackieG....hugs.

    Stay safe all

I've had a lovely afternoon, stopped at my mum's and saw my dad, went to tescos and bought lots of cleaning products ahead of tomorrow's big clean and stopped by my friends house too. I'm going to her OH's crimbo party as she's not able to make it, which will set tongues wagging no doubt!

Chilling out until we go for dinner at 7!

Might walk the pup, but he's snoozing with OH currently.
