Shegar Im glad you posted this , not to scare people here who are disabled but to get it off your chest. Please contact your MP and invite them round for a cuppa to discuss a serious private matter then when they have met your OH show them the letter. Be prepared for them spilling their cuppa in shock:eek:

When you are a carer these things fall on your shoulders first, just as bad as being on your own of course. In my house when I have to break something to OH its like 'light the blue touch paper and stand well back' I race to the letter box like a madwoman and am on tenterhooks everyday till the post has been.

We harvested the garden today...2 of the most luscious strawberries in the world ..and I shared :D

I'm going to raise hell about this to my MSP - heating bills are higher here not bloody lower! It gets colder the further north you go - of course maybe they didn't get geography at Eton !

This is really worrying - everything is more expensive up here, especially in rural areas. Transport costs are huge, both public and private, and if you cannot afford to run a car you would find it really difficult to get to work, assuming you could get a job.

makes you wonder how much worse it will get doesn't it???

Wow wee this thread is moving so quick.........3 pages later and ive just caught up with the discussion on benefit cuts, well my hubby had a letter this morning from JC saying that they say he is well enough to get "..limited employment".Well how did they work that one out when they havent called him in for a interview....:mad::mad:Poor !!!!!! is wheelchair bound, severe epilepsy, with 24/7 care, carers come in,cognitive probs, severe tiredness due to haemmorage ,left side hemiplegia and blind....and few other less severe health problems that go with the stroke..:mad::mad:......Im fuming. I did have to fill a work focused form in 2 months ago, in which I told them exactly what is wrong with him, and all his health problems, but still they think he can work...:mad:.....When the first form come I wished then that they would interview him so that they could see what state he is in but they didnt.......

Yet I see people with motorbility cars ,smoking, mobile phones, wearing latest designer gear and walking perfectly well, loads of children, how do they manage to keep their benefits?..........When others struggle along with no luxuries in life......Beats me.... Wow ive got that lot of me chest...:)

Please please do what I did and contact your MP asap - it took her 4 days to get me transferred onto ESA support ( and that includes a weekend) and I can at least do some things for myself at times, and if I cannot then it doesn't happen, no use asking hubby for help .
I honestly do not believe they look at the forms after they have reached their quota for the week. For me they said when they looked at my claim again I met at least one of the descriptors( but they will not say if more nor what they were) so why didn't they put me in support group straight away and straight way they removed me from work group where I was not to actually work but attend meetings and training courses with the aim to go back to work, how I wish I could.

If i have not made sense today or been to down I am sorry not slept in 48 hrs - I get these times although not had them for months and can go up to nearly 4 days without sleep. Usually first 48 hrs am not tired but go 'high' usually even have a bit of energy but not this time am so tired and achy and now really finding it hard to concentrate and fed up as spent most of past 36hrs trying to sleep but just lie there, thank heavens for audio books - am now listening to second in Thursday Next series, never had heard of them till someone on this thread I think mentioned the author, so looked him up and liked the sound of his books and found audio versions of first two yesterday so on book two now and first book lasted nearly 10 hrs and really enjoyed it -pure escapisum (spl) thank you.....

Fuddle will see if anyone comes along with info on starting a new thread if not when rested will have a look and see how you do it ..............

Byatt don't go to Lidl for me as found ama$on have sent next lot of dog food from subscription a week early for some reason, so the money I thought I had on cc has gone so not enough to buy a sack for £10 in cash, not unless i empty out the copper jar but its not that full only about £5 in it so would rather leave it a bit longer as my bank will not accept bags of copper so have to use one of those machines that take 7p in every pound to change it.

Just as well nothing I need to buy till next week - GDs presents ordered and on their way, hoping they arrive by Saturday, fingers crossed. Hubby has got cash for bus fares but cannot touch that, getting more organised having monthly pay but still not quite there yet ensuring I don't end up like this.....

Right going to take a valium - dr gives me 14 very 3 months for restless legs ( well more restless body urg) - doesn't usually help when in the wakeful period but then its not usual type as feel so tired so might just be enough to let me fall asleep...........

Hopefully night night all and again if upset anyone with my mad pc game idea I am sorry..............just my way of trying to sort out what I can do to survive......

Should add I didn't as far as appealing, not many people are told but you can ask them to look at your case again when you get your decision - you have to phone them and ask them to do so and follow it up asap - send by special delivery, cost around £5 to ensure next day delivery - hubby was just told he had to find a post office while out and send it........only then after they have looked at it again and you still are put in wrong group do you need to appeal, but social never told me this MPs aide did, as now I think they keep you on the lower amount till appeal and backdate if you win, so all about keeping the money in their coffers.......so please get on the phone tomorrow morning, then write the letter asking them to look again at it - if you want I will copy the letter I wrote to them into a pm to you to give you an idea what to put.......Before this I had no idea who my local MP was so just googled and on her page she just gives a form as a way for you to get in touch so I gave a synopsis of my problems and Social decision and aide phoned me 2 hrs after I sent the email so make sure you put in all your contact details. Praying your MP will care for the disabled like mine does. If there is anyway I can help even if just a shoulder to cry on please, please pm me, my problems are nothing compared to yours or anyone who has children...............

Shegar, I couldn't find your post so can't quote. I second Ginny's and PAH's sentiments to contact your MP. I know it's exhausting, but it's the only way it seems.

Well our world got flooded today!. Our and DD's houses are ok but others were not so lucky.:(
The storm lasted a couple of hours and the water was over car bonnets. I wonder how many people have let their insurance lapse to try and save money. We live in a high area, we get snow but don't usually flood. The pictures and videos on Facebook are horrifying.

Shegar so sorry to hear about your problems, do try and appeal it - I know it's exhausting, but I really feel they are counting on folks to just sit back and take it - they know how hard it is emotionally to go through all this and a lot don't.
I honestly don't know what we can do to protect ourselves against what is obviously heading our way - I really worry, as for a lot of us all it needs is one thing to go wrong and everything will come toppling down on us
Wish I could come up with a plan that would make me feel more secure

SHEGAR oh my goodness hunny. The mind boggles. Please do contact your MP. No use messing around on this one, go straight to the top.

Kidcat glad your wee one is getting better.

I am appealing my JSA decision.

Hugs and more hugs to those who need them tonight. The forums will be going down at 10.30pm for maintenance so we will be having withdrawal symptoms! Perhaps we should all be good and get an early night.

I have over the years bought wartime cookbooks and make do and mend books and books on all sorts of things showing you how to do whatever and they have kind of got lost in my ahem many books - why I now unless I really, really want it in hardback get the kindle edition as a few to many books here and just running out of space. So far I have dug out The Daily Telegraph Good Eating - suggestions for wartime dishes- if you want I will type up some recipes and post them here - now someone will tell me its about 20% of a book you can legally copy, or is it less???????? also dug out my Make Do and Mend, keeping the family afloat on war rations - a book putting together the leaflets that were given out free during WWII.....right nearly 10.30pm so will send this and take my tab and hopefully tomorrow dig out the other books......

Night night all, please relax and sleep well.......catch you all tomorrow

    Hugs. love and healingxxxxxxxxx
