Byatt I'm making dinner right now, so just a quick post to give you a huge hug. I know it's common knowledge on here that I have the same anxiety about leaving the house sometimes, but it does get better. I'm sure once your DD gets used to going out again it will get easier for her. You are a great Mom and it comes through loud and clear how much you love your DD. Here's hoping she feels better quickly and that you can stop worrying.

Take care of yourself too xxxx

Aw Byatt anxiety is horrible at the best of times but when it really overtakes life it can be just mortifying. That said, with help and as SDG has said from her own experience that it will get better for your DD. I hope you're ok. A mum never stops worrying eh :( x

Hello HJ nice to "see" you are well.

Hugs for Byatt and her DD and for SGD too - my aunt suffered from agoraphobia for years and it was heartbreaking to see her suffer.

PIC - you will probably find the mini oven very economical, mine certainly is and I don't think twice about putting it on. Heats up very quickly too so not much waiting around.

Fuddle - doesn't matter how you learn as long as you keep on doing so.

HM chili from the freezer tonight so an easy tea then going to restart on my piano course - ought to do it in the daytime really when the immediate neighbours are working but will play with headphones instead tonight. I've forgotten all I originally learned so it will sound a bit painful :(

Your poor DD Byatt. DH suffers with anxiety and went through a really bad patch with crippling panic attacks which contributed to him losing his job. He's so much better now without the stress (But has no job!). Hopefully as she starts to feel better physically, the worst will pass and she won't be quite so frantic at the thought of going out.

Thanks SDG, Fuddle, Lizzy and Possession, you have helped me no end, just being able to share lightens my load and thanks also for sharing your experiences. Your support helps this sometimes overwhelmed Byatt to carry on. xxxxx

PIC, I think a few of us have said how excited we get when an AF order arrives, I have one coming tomorrow...

I have a small oven, it's a Cuisinart table top and is excellent. I don't have room for a full cooker plus of course it's not worth running a large one. I cook everything in mine. I do find it cooks quicker than a conventional oven.. I do have my eye on a baby belling though as it has the hobs on top and I use a separate halogen(?) hob, the one where the bottoms of pans have to be magnetic.

Isn't it funny how a found chewy bone is always much more wanted than a brand new one! I was often finding bones under the sofa, and both dogs would be hyper trying to be the first to get one.

    Hello all

So many of us seem to be having it tougher than usual here - lots of hugs and good thoughts to you all! :grouphug:

Our TC went down after renewal, even though nothing was different, by over £20 a week, and as I've now told them I've changed jobs (even though over the year we won't be any better off AND I'll have to pay more childcare - does that mean worse off then?), no doubt they'll downgrade us further - hey ho!! How on earth do the folk featured in the Daily Fail scam the system successfully, or get given large multimillion pound homes, along with loads of other extras, when the rest of us work hard, pay our dues, etc., then get hammered? Grrr! ...and off soap box, sorry! Suffering from sleep deprivation due to littlies waking a few times for the last few nights, DH tossing and turning cos our old bed's !!!!, 3 long days at work, and grown-up kids giving us grief, too! It's got to get better - littlies in bed soon, DH working late so I can have tv and pc to myself for a bit - mwah ah ha!!! :D

    A xo

:( We get that a lot where I work; I'm £29 a week better off in work than on JSA, taking into account what I have to pay in rent and council tax, which would be paid for me under current rules. It's enough to make a cat laugh, innit?

Never mind, I've got some useful life-skills and a sarky sense of humour to keep me going, plus support services like The Magic Greengrocer and the Computer Wizard and my family and friends. Not to mention the wonders which are the MSE forumites :A.

Haribo Junkie, nice to see you again and I'm trying not to be jealous of the combination of lovely west coast scenery and lovely weather which you have now. Whenever I see that brand of sweeties, I remember you, and whenever I hear the world kale I think of Mardatha pulling a disgusted face somewhere.............:rotfl:

I shudder to think what is happening at the allotment as I haven't been there since Thursday. Will have to go after w*rk tomorrow, no matter how weary, in case some strawbs have ripened. Gawd help any slugs if I find they've been chewing on them, there'll be murder done. I have a cheap but very sharp trowel, part of set from £land, which is being deployed with evil intent these days and not in the planting-out sense of the word. Nasty little burgers.

 Quick Q, does anybody know what might be in commercial wild bird seed mix which could have caused a lovely trailing-type plant with blue-ish-mauve flowers (flowers not dissimilar to vinca major ) ? It has grown under the feeder at Mum's and we think it might be from something in the seed mix. It's rather attractive. I'm no flower gardener so unless it's a very very commonplace flower, I'm liable to be stumped.

All right, time for some more tea and a rampage around the interweb to see what's happening. Have a nice night, peeps.
