:D The colour is close but the flowers are completely different. The one at Mum's has five petals to a flower and they were deeply indented, sort of a star-like design (wriggles with frustration at inability to doodle on here). The colour of Mum's mystery flower was more intense that the flax in that pic. Thanks for trying, tho! I have every faith that someone up here would know it if they saw it.

Ok - how big is the flower and how tall/long is the plant? :)

:o I'm doing this from memory as I haven't seen it since yesterday but the plant is about 18 inches tall but the stems seem very sappy and weak and some of it was hanging down over the step in a very fetching way. But some of it was upright, so not a pure trailing plant, I think. The flowers were about 2.5 cm/ 1 inch across.:o Sorry to be a pain; if I was a proper grown up I'd own a camera phone or a digi camera and have taken a shot of it.....................hangs head in cheapskate Luddite fashion and slinks off................. Please don't go to too much trouble, Mrs Chip. Unless you want to, of course.

:D Well, you and Mar between you certainly got the bottom of my mystery birding problem (identifying that pesky great tit call). It was driving me nuts and you gals solved it. OS-ers rule the world, yayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA, actually, now I come to think of it, there were a few bits of the same stuff which had rooted into a planter of fuschias which had co-incidentally been under the feeder, too. That was more about a foot tall. Grr, it there awebsite somewhere where you can type something simpleminded like June-Northern Hemisphere- blue and get a photo lineup of possible suspects?

:j OMG so many blue flowers! I've gone thru twice and I can't find an exact matchy for the one I saw; it's so frustrating that it's 30 miles away as I'm sure if I could hold one up to the screen I could get a match.

Gonna have to sign off for the night as am going square-eyed and have some small amount of ironing to do, ironing which will be stiff as a board if I leave it until the morning.

Cover me, ladies, I'm going in!

    TY so much and goodnight.

Byatt - I am hearing this more and more from families who have an autistic child. The group we are involved with had a query last week and as a result we now have six other cases of older teenagers who are struggling to leave the house due to anxiety. Its very worrying, it is good to hear though that you have been able to access help for her.

PIC, I think a few of us have said how excited we get when an AF order arrives, I have one coming tomorrow...

Me too!!!! :j:j:j Dave the DPD guy brings mine and I swear he thinks I'm nuts - he's a lovely lad so we always have a bit of a chat and he asked me once what I was getting in these big heavy boxes every month or so! Took one in last week for a mate who lives near us who'd ordered his sweetie and choc supply and didn't want my ex hubby sniffing them out and 'helping' him eat them if he got it delivered to work.

Trying to work out if I can face the Olympic torch thing at the weekend, DD will love all the waving - she likes to wave and people watch- but I really don't know if I can face the crowds with the tank (our nickname for the big double buggy not ex army equip!)

Celebrating a major breakthrough with DD today - she has kept her glasses on all day every day for a week! :j She's had them since Feb and its been a battle to keep them on for longer than half an hour at a time til now. Hey - if I take her to see the torch she'll actually be able to see it! :p That might be reason enough to face the hoards. I can always bash a few ankles if anyone gets deliberately in my way.:D
