I have a bit of good news
DH has won £130 in his fishing competition today :j
That's good karma for him giving me that £20 out of his fishing fund for my trolley
Oh and he brought me a free white cap that they were giving out. Brill for incognito walking the dog looking 'alf rough in the morning
He's tucking into his warmed up Sunday lunch and we're about to have that Weetabix cake and custard. I'm not convinced it's going to be nice but as long as the kids like it, job well done.
I can quite believe we're going to get mostly rain for the rest of the summer
I forgot yesterday ( so caught up in myself sorry) to say congratulations, am so pleased for you. That is more money for his pot for his bits, which does make it easier on you as he is not asking you for money for anything he might need, and by the way I meant to say I love your trolley - I had one years ago just taking stuff from shops to car, it was the old tartan type, in fact its still sitting in the hall, makes a handy storage for my reusable shopping bags, as soon as they are emptied they are just put in the trolley. Nowadays I don't go on my own so hubby carries any bags and he refuses to use the trolley - then moans how they hurt his shoulders, oh well he will learn the hard way.
Most shopping for us is in a small shopping centre which contains the shops you usually see on the high street but no where else for them to go as village shops have morphed into estate agents, restaurants etc., so I can just take a supermarket trolley from car park and go round each shop with it, Mr S and Mr T are only real shops in village apart from a butchers, chemists, Health Food shop ( struggling hard to stay afloat ), new Pet Store and Post Office now, but as my family tell me I am a snob as I like Mr S own brand and not MR Ts ( although used them for years until Mr S appeared but do prefer Mr S taste and quality). So I rarely go to MR Ts except maybe when go to dentist as its on corner of entrance to it ( was a big estate and they knocked down the house and built over everything 10 years ago, same as most estates here, village hundred years ago had so many big houses with grounds, now any left are nursing homes and others knocked down, a shame as they were beautiful houses and all those grounds now new builds or roads)

That's the potatoes I bought 60 of the other day still showing up at 20p on their website so if they get some more in this week I might buy a few more as I can see them going right up after the wet weather we are having - over the years their price has reflected the harvest, bad harvest price goes up usually about 3 months later.
I always feel if we have potatoes in, and these can be heated in the water they come in, plus even just beans we can have a meal, ok never been that bad thankfully, but its my safety net, although keep trying to build up the tins of other things, one of these years life might let me.............
Beautiful day here and am trying to get out of bed, not succeeded so far to toddle out and see if I have had any slug damage in front - back up to yesterday was fine, but not checked the vegetable beds in side garden since last Monday.............

PAH I'm a jacket potato fiend. As long as we have tatties I'm calm
Well said trolley and I went out for the 6 miler this morning. I got some looks but get this... not from my generation but from the older generation! Some were looking fondly at me as if I had gone up in their estimation. But ladies I tell you, the negative looks I was getting of the more well to do older ladies were actually quite disturbing  One lady, stood at the bus stop with her PVC Harrods shopping bag, physically turned her head away in disgust. I have been so worried about people of my own age taking the mickey that I hadn't thought of anyone else taking exception. Hey though, you know what? I'm not bothered. I got my shopping and kept my bus fare in my pocket. I do feel smug
My feet hurt though, really need to sort out shoe ware.
So, just had ham sandwiches and off to make bacon, leek and potato soup, crusty bread and a treacle steamed pudding.
I am totally out of the loop what has happened in Greece so need to read up on that, and look at Kemps wool site.
Have a good afternoon everyone0 -
Totally off topic but thought you would enjoy seeing this, its nice to see a human doing something for animals that usually these days are classed as vermin ( no not mice or rats)

Well done FUDDLE - don't take any notice of well off ladies of a certain age, you should see the looks they give you when you have a lurcher in tow!!!!! We do a service for the whole village do me and my boy, we make entire streets feel so much better when we leave, and we do it for free!!!!!!Long live the trolley- I'm proud of you Cheers Lyn and her boy X.0

Picture found - and pup not the guilty party. I was sorting out pairs of reading glasses the other day and put them on the table whilst I got the box they are kept in off the nearby shelf. Somehow I managed to put the picture in the box as well without realising :rotfl:Oh the joys of early onset senility! Glad it was me though and not someone coming in through the dog flap at night (didn't really think this had happened as nothing else was missing but it is big enough for a slim teenager to get through and I've never liked the bloomin' thing - have now decided to block it off permanently)."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

Afternoon everyone :hello:
Thought I'd drop by to say hello.
I haven't been keeping up with the thread (or MSE in general) lately. Just not enough hours in the day. Sorry for those of you with rain but we've had the lovliest weather up here for weeks. I think it's only rained for 2 afternoons in the last 5 weeks so lots of watering of plants. The garden is doing well though and the veggie patch is loving it's new location though the purple Kale is threatening to take over. :rotfl:
We've been foraging again, this time for elderflowers (loads of them this year, and in different locations than before so I should still have plenty of berries in the autumn). Have also been picking masses of nettles, both for soup and to soak as plant food. OH has been catching trout and a friend has been diving for scallops.
We seem to have been haemorraging money though as there has been "stuff needed" for the house. All good investment buys though which will last us years but the savings have taken a serious hit.
Will try to pop in again soon but take care in the meantime everyone.

Haribo Junkie so good to see you posting here
Oh hand caught scallops, luverly. I am swotting up on the elderflower (after mistaking it for cow parsely... ooops) and found 3 now on my route to the buchers warehouse.
Disaster averted!!!!! You know how I was buying my milk in for the month and freezing it in the garage freezer? Well I had 8 four pinters all lined up 4x2 in the bottom drawer. I was very chuffed with myself at my canniness. Little did I know that the milk would swell when frozen and made all the containers bigger... and well and truly wedged in. How I have managed to pull one free I do not know, but I haveWhat a stupid thing to do. I live and learn!

My dear DD is suffering from dreadful anxiety, she gets very anxious as part of the her autism, but because she's been so ill, and hasn't really been out, she has become really, really anxious, so much so she was sick today at the thought. Support is putting things in place and I will see her again on the weekend and take her out, but as a mum, it's heartbreaking to see/hear her like this. There are no answers or anything people can do, just wanted to tell someone, and you are my support and internet family.0

Afternoon everyone.
Had a busy day today. This morning after taking the pooches for a walk DH and I shot of to town armed with a note book to compare the prices between A1di, 1idl and Mr T as they are all close to each other. Mr A and Sainsbobs watch out your next !!!
One of our biggest expense is pet food so I will be comparing findings with prices online and what the fussy bu88ers will eat
I had my first App Food order delivered today and how sad is it that I got sooooooooo exitedon my order was 60 boxes of go cat as my cats like it and it was cheaper than I could find anywhere.
I have then blitzed the house from top to bottom. I never moan about house work or having to walk miles as when I was laid up in agony for months I would have done anything to run round with a mop!!! As the meds seem to get me on my feet I'm most certainly kicking the a$$ out of it :j
Bought a mini oven off eb*y yesterday so trying it out for running coast cheapness tonight, oh the romance :rotfl::rotfl:
When I moved the sofa during my blitz I found a chewy bone that the dogs are now fighting over so I'm off to referee
