PAH, good to see you back. :) Thank for the good thoughts.

Went to see DD yesterday and just came back. Took her out for a short while as she's not been out for ages, but it completely wore her out. I'm grateful she has lots of dom care at the moment, which she seems to be loving, much to my surprise. She can't shower so has to strip wash...and they make her a cuppa. The nurse still comes in every day. One thing good she has lost a lot of weight, not the best method of course, but hopefully will "bump" start her.

I'm [STRIKE]knack[/STRIKE] very tired as sleeping on the sofa doesn't do it for me. :o

So, should be doing housework, but maybe tomorrow.

This putting flour in the freezer; does it stop the weevils, and presumably it doesn't need defrosting, you can use straight from freezer?

http://ssac.independent.gov.uk/pdf/uc-draft-regs-2012-memorandum.pdf this is not for the faint hearted or depressed.

    Quote
Limit on Payment of Housing Costs
    91. There is to be a time-limit of two years on payment of housing costs to claimants
in the full conditionality group of Universal Credit. When such a claimant has received
help with housing costs for a period of two years these payments will stop and will
not be reinstated until a claimant has had a break in claim and has served a further
waiting period. This is underpinned by the principle of providing short-term help
through the benefits system and because it is not considered appropriate that this
help is provided indefinitely. This is intended to focus the help that is given through
the benefits system on those on low income when they need it most.'

    From http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/universal-credit-chapter3.pdf

Under Universal Credit, requirements will be set according to individual capability
and circumstance. There will be four broad conditionality groups:
    • full conditionality – jobseekers;
    • work preparation – people with a disability or those with a health condition
    which means they have limited capability for work at the current time;
    • keeping in touch with the labour market – lone parent or lead carer in a
couple with a child over age one but below age five; and
    • no conditionality – people with a disability or health condition which prevents
them from working, carers, lone parents or lead carers with a child under the
    age of one.
Conditionality under Universal Credit will apply up to a threshold. Initially this
threshold will be set at broadly the same point at which people lose entitlement
to out-of-work benefits. In the future, however, it will be possible to raise the
threshold to apply conditionality to greater numbers of recipients.
People receiving Universal Credit but earning above the relevant threshold would
not be subject to conditionality. Those in work but earning below the threshold

The way the word this am slowly wading through it, its as if they assume there are plenty of jobs out there for the taking and if you don't get a job its not their fault but yours for being so lazy - implied in nearly every paragraph......

    Isn't this kind of them
Universal Credit brings together several benefits and credits with separate sets
of run-on rules following bereavement which require simplifying and aligning. The
Regulations provide that for the next three payments following bereavement the
Universal Credit Maximum Amount continues to take account of a deceased partner,
21 child or cared-for person. They also continue to take account of a deceased nondependent in calculating the housing element. In addition, following the death of a
partner or child conditionality requirements are to be eased for a period of 6 months.

So you can have 6 months to grieve then if your conditionality was due to run out just before the death of partner or child you then might find your housing costs are no longer paid............

PAH - am so glad you have posted was beginning to worry. :)

Mardatha - OMG it will take blinking ages to go back in the bank too, dont forget you want compensating for that time :)

Possession - you could try offering the sweets to a local church fo rany summer fetes they may be doing.

I agreed ages ago to help out at at summer party for a group that supports families with ASD kids, have just had major panic when I realised its next week and I have planned nothing. So am desperately trying to get some ideas together quickly for nice things to make to sell. Have found a recipe for cookie pops but it requires shortening - what on earth is shortening?

    Eveing All

Kidcat - shortening is hard fat, so marge, butter, or something like trex would be what is needed!

Last night went fine, weather brightened up in the evening and we were busy without being manic. I do get knacked though!

Sunny today but cool when it goes in -certainly not flaming June.

I would love to receive a message from someone - just to let me know they are there! Never been to a meeting though, I think I have seen to much about bogus mediums and it puts me off a bit.

Sausage and mash with home grown peas - yum!

The Stanhope road over the top is lovely at this time of year, one of my ex-colleagues when we worked in Barney lived in Hamsterley and she had fun in winter... not! Even in April and May they have snow up there when the rest of us are just a bit unseasonably nippy.

I know ;) DH came off his mountain bike in that forest the week before we were due to be married. Big cut between his eyes. Niiiiice.:mad::(

Been to see the torch relay today. We all loved it, brilliant atmosphere. The girls took it all in too. :)

Then off to niece's birthday party. Goody bag of b'day cake to bring home ;)

WE then went to get DH some winter/fishing wellies with his winnings yesterday. He treat the girls and I fleece welly warmers for the winter too.

Just had leftover chicken curry and chips. It was really tasty :D

I have ordered some yarn. Deramores has a bit of a sale on (although nothing bargainous, just a tad knocked off) It's brown DK and a circular knitting needle so I can attempt some leg warmers. We have been to GoOutdoors and seen the sale leaflet. Holding off for some walking shoes in there. Figured I needed something more up to the job for walking those 6 miles with the trolley. They are brown. So when it's just a bit nippy I would like some woolly warmers with them.

Still practising k1 p1 and it's goinging ok, not brilliant but ok. Hopefully I'll be better but the time the circular needles come. I love learning something new. :D

Oh, spoke to FIL. He lives on the West Coast of Scotland. We're going up to visit next month. Holiday! :D Something to look forward to :)

Ironing to do. Shopping list to do. The trolley and I make our maiden voyage tomorrow :D

Good to see you PAH I'm the other way with my papagraphs. Too many! Between us we'll get it right hun eh :)

    Love to all :)
