hi pic, I went missing too but so pleased to be back. Pleased your feeling a bit better Byatt. I haven't found anything gem-worthy in a CS for a while.

It has arrived It's nothing more than a black bag on wheels. Defo going to use it tomorrow but walking in the school yard with it in the morning will be hard. DH said it's only hard if I allow the 'what will people think' thoughts cloud me and to get a grip with the fact it's just a bag that is on wheels. I am going to use it though. It is going to rain quite a bit tomorrow though so I don't know if I can face that 6 miles. I doubt there's some ladies across the world that can face the multiple mile walk in the sweltering heat to get water for her family.. but she does it. I guess I shall too.

Fuddle, clag on a smile, a confident walk and head held high...don't look apologetic and be ready with a witty response if anyone does say anything. I am pretty sure however, that you will be a trend setter and more than one person will be wishing they had a trolley too!

You know I crochet yeah? Well I am so wanting to knit. I am clueless. I hate just doing stuff for the sake of it so wanted to make something useful while I practise. I have some 4ply yarn that is too thin for me to crochet with. I like at least DK so I was hoping to use it up in some socks.

My question is, do you think a complete beginner could knit socks or would I be running before I can walk. Also what size knitting needles would you use for 4ply? 3mm - 2.5mm? See that's making me panic, tiny stitches!

I am not a knitter although I have knitted in the past, and even made one of those complicated cable knit jumpers which were all the rage in the 70's after being helped by my brother's then wife. But yes, socks should be fine, I have no idea about needle size etc, but someone will come along that does, I am sure.

Well......... you asked for it !!!

We went to get a little playmate for Womble (if you remember he only had one doo dah) when we got there the little fella snarled and barked at Womble :eek: but Womble kept going to the cage next to this dog where there was a timid Beagle who kept shaking in the corner. Such sad eyes .........long story short we took this Beagle for a walk with Wimble Womble and took him home there and then

The new pooch was named Lego as he bricked it at everything, lorries, loud noises, towels etc you name it he was scared of it. He could not walk on a lead and was all bones. These two have become the best of mates and as Womble is a fearless terrier he has toughened Lego up. He now eats (still a little skinny though) and wags his tail and has become best of friends with one of the cats :rotfl:

This leads me to dog number three........... Beagle notoriously don't come back when they are off the lead. Nose switches on and the brain switches off :rotfl::rotfl: Once a week we take him to the dog rescue centre as they let us use their field as it is all enclosed and this is where we got suckered into dog number three . One of the ladies there was going to pick up a collie from a farm as they no longer wanted her and as she knew after I was bed ridden with my back a few months ago and had been building up my walking up to seven miles a day she thought we would be the best suited home for this little girl. Molly the collie came to live with us three weeks ago after six failed homes.

We now have four kids (one older and left) three dogs, five cats (one foster) three chickens and a hedgehog people on our estate think I am balmy as I don't fit the Prada image :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: booger them I say!!

Molly was a failed sheepdog however she keeps herding westies when we go on the field :rotfl::rotfl: luckily the owners are amused as it saves them getting their dogs back :rotfl:

So we now have a farm but I am happier and healthier because of them and the fag money I save pays for their upkeep so it has been worth every penny in my book.

Our doggy is a beagle/collie cross and is always totally switched on and raring to go. From having a dog with those to breads I can absolutely see why you fell for them pic

I can't ever let mine off his lead as he's just on another planet when he's in the great outdoors. Long lead walks for him but he doesn't seem to mind as it's the constant sniffing that entertains him, not the running for miles. If he sees a bird in the corn though, he tries to bolt it - one day he'll swipe me off my feet!

FUDDLE - They will all be so jealous, just you wait your trolley will be the must have accessory in your area in the very near future. I'll bet the Queen has one!!!!!!!!! Put your chin up and pull it with pride, and if anyone does say anything it will probably be 'Coo, where can I get one of those?', they look so useful.
