She had, and her stomach had just said 'S*d this...' and dumped what was there already.
This happens quite often.
Bless you for your reaction to her accident. What a good friend you are :T
But I have to say that her body's reaction is not normal and she needs to get it investigated. We all eat too much at times but our bodies do not normally do what you have described. I have had a similar thing happen to me - in bed in the middle of the night when I was trying a detox promoted by Carol Vorderman - but I could put it down to the drastic change in diet, not a simple overeating bout. Being very overweight should not lead to this - it didn't for me when I was.
Hope she gets the help she so clearly needs poor thing."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Oh dear, I'm in a whole CBA mood at the moment. We have been back from our holiday two weeks now and I am finding it hard to buckle down to normal life again.
Nowt done in the house, spending too much money, cannot be a*sed to cook properly and generally feeling down.
I have three important phone calls to make today and I know if I don't force myself to concentrate, it will be 6pm and I will remember then! It's as though there is a 'fog' that I can see through so I just float along in it and the day is gone. Worryingly I have started to sleep through the day again.
I know I am in more pain at the moment because I am eating painkillers again. My fibro has flared up and I think it's behind my general sloth! So I am sitting here at 6am beating myself up about being lazy!
Inside me, somewhere, there is a bright, busy, pottering about, cooking lover. There is also the inner nagging 'voice' disapproving of my indolence. I think I am just struggling to allow myself to succumb to being out of action for a while. Why is it that we are so hard on ourselves?
Have just reread this and having written down how I feel, I can see that this is more than CBA. Pain is the dominant factor and the resulting tiredness and depression (right word..I spend to make myself feel better) are what I have to cope with. Inside I am raging at my inability to pull myself together. I am not graceful at giving in.
OK, I know ...baby steps. Do what I can then allow myself to rest. Man! this feels bad.
Sorry it's a downer to start the day! Thanks for listening.:)Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Meme, hun, you have my sympothy with the pain/sleep cycle, I'm going through it as well at the mo. So don't be hard on yourself, listen to what your body is telling you, if that mean's sleeping in a chair in the day then do that. Is there some thing you like to do that's quite, ie knitting/reading so your not desterbing other's in the house, or in my case doing the veg ready for tea then bunnging it in the slow cooker so I'v got something for me & OH to eat later.£71.93/ £180.000

Meme - ((hugs)) is there any way you could visit your GP and talk to them about how you are feeling, if your pain is so poorly managed as to cause this level of distress, your medication must need reviewing surely. Take care of your self.
Byatt - is there any way your daughter can be re-assessed by a dentist, that her absess is taking this long and packing is left in sounds really wrong to me, we have a big dental hospital twenty miles away that runs a drop in session regularly, it may be worth investigating if this is available near you? I do hope she feels better soon.
Stiltwalker - how awful is it that there is no follow on group for the older age. As others have said fight is the only way foward. good luck. One thought is there a local support group that you can access - they often have access to resources to help you fight. I am a member of one local group that has really been helpful.0 -

Ah, I recognise this. Not from my own life as I've always been skint but from friends. An affluent IT professional of my circle once said, in a chat with several of us; "Everyone spends up to their income." Well, I really mean, he stated this as if it were a universal truth, like gravity, which always applied, no matter what. Since I like the guy, and didn't want to have a row, I just temporised "Not everyone." At the time his income was 80% above mine, and I didn't spend more than 70% of mine, then or now. I wouldn't want to swop lifestyles with this guy, because his very demanding job has seen him have a breakdown in recent years and he has now developed a very unpleasant chronic health problem which may well have been triggered by the stress.

Now I have teenagers who are overjoyed if we have the money for a chinese takeaway every 3 months or so :rotfl: and they are not ashamed to say to friends 'we can't afford that'. I'm no saint or miracle worker don't get me wrong but I think by being honest with your children and giving them an idea of costs does help to explain what you as a family can/can't afford, and why.Bonnie, that's awesome! Such a wise Mum, and it's great that your children understand and are on-side, not constantly wanting stuff that can't be afforded, which would likely cause conflict in even the most loving homes. You will have done them a powerful lot of good for the rest of their lives.
My parents used to involve us kids in family discussions when we were about the same age. I remember when they decided to give up the motorbike and get a car. Trouble was, neither had a driving license. So lessons had to be budgetted for first, then a very elderly 2nd hand car, then discussions about should they buy a house, and budgetting so that if either of them couldn't work for health reasons, the bills and the mortgage would still be paid. They had reasons to be cautious as had each had, when in thier early twenties with 2 tiny kids, a severe health problem. Dad didn't work for 6 months, the only time he was out of work from 15 to 65, and it was very tough for us.
mcculloch what a thing your friend is going thru. A hospital specialist in this field once explained to me that it is very common for a sense of "urgency" to pass a bowel motion to be created within a few minutes of starting to eat. What happens is that the gut, as a result of new food arriving in the stomach, starts to contract and something Drs call the "ilial (sp?) brake" come off, effectively moving stools further down the gut towards the exit, as it were. Suddenly, you gotta go. This is a perfectly-normal phenomenon and shouldn't cause soiling.
Sometimes people are nervous in certain environments and don't do their business regularly, then get to somewhere they feel relaxed, and suddenly want to go in a real hurry. I think your friend needs to have more medical investigations.
meme30 (((hugs hun))) that sounds like a rotten way to be feeling. I think a lot of us have the post-holiday blues, when we come back to the same-old same-old, it's a real drag. All that blinking laundry and how can there be so much dust when no one's been home, dust being mainly skin-flakes, huh?!
I'd try a little gentle pottering, setting very low limits, especially as you are in pain. Hope you feel better soon, hun.
Quick Q I have 2 bottles of Sainsbugs White Wine Vinegar. They are several years old but unopened. Could easily be 4-5 years old. I've scrutinised every inch of the packaging inc the caps and there are no BB dates. Do you think it will be in OK conditon? Has been kept in a dark cupboard.I'm on leave at the mo and have decided to bite the bullet and Try to Buy a Fridge. I have money, that's not the problem. I last tried to replace Mr Beko, (12 years old, standard operating temperture 10c for the past year and I never get ill btw), this time last year. I was very dissatisfied with the offerings. Mr B is a B rated model and modern A rated ones have a higher KwH consumption, plus their interiors seemed to be made of very flimsy carp compared to his.
Has anyone bought an under-counter fridge recently and would make some recommendations? I shall start my trip in the referenece library to see what Which? has to say, then mosey on to J Lewis. If they haven't anything suitable, I may have to woman-up and risk death by squishing by biking out to one of the superstores.:(
Och well, this ain't getting the baby a bonnet. Haven't seen the sunshine since Saturday, either. And it's cold. Have a good day, peeps, GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Aw meme, I hope you can get some help so you can feel more positive soon.
Byatt I like the book, it's AZ and easy to folow for preserves and there's many things in there I wouldn't have dreamed of doing. It's simple with no waffle too.
Everytime DH wins a fishing match he puts his winnings away to save incase some of his fishing equipment breaks. Last night he asked me how much a trolley would cost. I said around £20.. he gave me £20 ou of his tinI'm putting it in the bank today so I can buy
I did want a funky one but you have to pay more for the cooler ones so plain black it is... anyway, I'll look chic in my gloss black wellies and red welly warmers with that! pmsl... the days of having a beautiful brand new Toyota Yaris are well gone! Believe it or not though, I'm happier these days than I was back then.
Have a good day everyone. I'm off for my mammoth walk for th dogs meat.. a bit worried about him, he's lethargic this morning. If he has one more runny you know what we're of fto the vets.0 -

We have a B0sch fridge which has been very reliable for a good few years. I have also heard that JL own brand are very good too :TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
FUDDLE - love the trolley it will be so useful and stop you developing gorilla arms by carrying too much!!!!! Hope pup is feeling better, the problem with puppies is that they eat everything, I know Docky would dive under hedges when we were out walking and come out chewing, heaven knows what he found but it all went down too quickly to take it from him. His funniest find was half way up a holly hedge, he dived in up to his neck and came out with an entire, peeled boiled egg!!!!. It is next to the village shop and the only thing I can think is someone had a scotch egg and only ate the sausagemeat. I'll never know!!! They do grow out of scavenging eventually, he'll be fine. Have a good day Cheers Lyn x.0

Not quite the same as a fridge, but I have JL own brand dishwasher and washing machine...7 years on, not a problem....well priced at the time & good quality. Wouldn't hesitate to go back to JL myself. Mind, I haven't looked to see present prices and quality...
...Have probably jinxed my two machines now

Fuddle - congrats on being able to order the trolley. You could "accessorise" it to make it a bit funkier. How about a cut out dog a la Radley to hang from the fastening - would certainly make some people wonder ..........
DIY for me today - the dogflap is letting in the wind, the front door curtain pole has become detached from the wall at one side and I need to start painting the kitchen - good job it's raining then so no temptation to go hiking with pup :rotfl:"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0
