HH I'm so sorry. Is the £100 the headline number? What I mean is, is that what will actually come off your net income by the time you've claimed all the credits you are allowed?
Fuddle, sounds like you might be better off getting a prepayment certificate for your meds. Sometimes it works out cheaper to get a series of three monthly ones with a gap in between but time your repeat prescriptions so that you get another lot just before the certificate expires. Even if it doesn't make much difference with your regular meds, it means that anything else you need is free.
There was a very big thread on here a few years back about wally trollies. Based on that I bought a Rolser which is the Rolls Royce of shopping trollies. It is very good. I lacked the nerve to get a psychedelic one or a cow print one so got a plain blue one. Farmers' markets are urban chic now so tell people that's what you are getting it for. Oh HH I am so sorry £100 a month is an awful lot of money, so someone mentioned see if you can get HB, CTB and also WTC any of these might make up some of the difference ( remember you do not need to have children to claim WTC, we only found out by accident that single person or a couple without children can claim, we don't get much ( £4.73pw this past year) but hey every little bit help. Sending you lots of love, healing and hugs, wish it could be more.

Did anybody read that piece on the BBC site about Greece? The chemists haven't been paid for over a year and have stopped stocking medication. Apparently they buy it from the makers, then the govt reimburses them and they havent done that so chemists have just stopped buying.
Talking about a family who had sold all their jewellery and anything else they could, just to get oxygen and diabetic meds. Times sure are getting tough but that kind of thing show how much tougher they could get yet.
Can't find the Greece story today but not done a careful search. I worked shifts for year with ATC then youngest son did not believe in sleep till he was about 7 - until then he had one hour a day usually from 5 - 6 in the evening and so I spent years always wanting to sleep during the day as was only time I could catch up while he was like that, this year have to admit first year when body clock is not defaulting to staying awake at night and got to admit its fab actually being awake during the day and no more long dark nights.
The soaps are wonderful, they arrived today and I love them, the grandchildren will adore them, although most likely youngest granddaughter when I give them to her for her 3rd birthday will think they are sugar mice and want to eat them:eek:
Hope you are feeling a bit more lively today.

Well, I'm almost packed and flying in 36 hours and counting.
Mum called earlier, Dad was taken to hospital by ambulance, so it looks like my timing is impeccable. He's developed an interesting habit of passing out, which the doctors seem less than inclined to deal with. They keep telling him all is well, he keeps passing out. Yesterday he did it whilst on a brief outing with mum and when the nice ambulance guys came and heard this was the 4th time they insisted he go in until they sort him out. He's a bit of a complicated case since he has advanced asbestosis, but this apparently is unrelated. We'll see. He should be fine this time, but it really needs investigating before he does himself an injury on the way down.
Anyway, if I had a visit to England and didn't manage to visit someone in hospital, it just wouldn't be the same.
Hugs and fresh tea to all in need ('fraid I'm out of cookies until I bake for hubby before I go).
I rpesume you have started your travels, but hope they do find out what is up with your dad, Safe journey xxxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Ty PAH, I have sticky labels saying "SOAP! DO NOT EAT" but then if yur young enough to eat soap you probably canny read eh :rotfl:
Today here it was like November, dark and dismal and cool. Post office had their lights on just like in depths of winter.
We seem to have a rat problem - was looking out the window and watched one scurrying around the patio of the house over the road. Then neighbour said she had seen them in her compost heap. And sure enough, we found two holes round the back of our shed and then a young rat ran out just in front of me. So I have spoken severely to the cat and explained his options.
ie none.
And th RV is in John Wayne mode, standing at kitchen window looking out over the prairie, tight lipped and gimlet eyed, holding the gun and muttering hes gonna git them nesters.
Sometimes it would be nice to be normal. Just sometimes.0 -
Mardy, sorry about the ratty problem, makes my mouse seem like, well small in comparison. Having said that, aren't there rats near all of us, some statistic that has got lost in my misty brain cells.
Have had a busy morning although could easily have stayed in bed, pain hovering around the loin area now...anyway, checked on bunnies and as I was leaving thought, wonder where the road goes if I turn right instead of left. mmmhhh, not a good idea, one track, narrow road through woods...got out the other end eventually but won't be doing that again!
Then popped into to see cats I will be looking after next week, chat with owner and got my instructions...lovely cats and family.
Then home. It's very hot here, no sign of cooling although a little wind.
PAH, the meeces are fab! They remind me of sugar mice too, and certainly look good enough to eat!0 -
Nah, normal is for boring gets!!!
I am bored, bored, boredy bored. Marking, only on question 1
Might clean the kitchen for some light relief!
Hmm not sure I'm that desperate yet.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Well caught up now.
Yesterday I toddled off to dentist on my own as hubby was called in and he dare not ever refuse O/T as they would stop offering it to him. Needed two fillings and one tooth repaired ( side had fallen off) so injections top and bottom and he preceeds to do top filling first, fine all well no ouchs. Then he goes to start bottom filling and as soon as water is sprayed in area I nearly leap out of chair, all gum beside numb and face numb right up to eye but that one area by tooth needing replaced filling, nope. So he gives me another injection and brings chair up - he had me lying totally flat and I promptly pass out. Only for a second or two so he puts me back down again and tries again, and yep out I go again and am so dizzy, so back down, he tries again with the water and I leap again, so he then repairs tooth that needed it and gives me another injection - number 6 and brings chair up again and yep out I go again. So he leaves me up and I am sitting there unable to move head as so dizzy and he gets me a glucose drink which tasted horrible and made me heave but I kept it down and it did help the dizziness. Then back down again and try the water trick and nope up I leap again, so he decided to call it a day and this time brought chair up very, very, very slowly and I was ok. So we are going to try for the filling again in two weeks and if nerve still will not freeze I will then be sent to Dental Hospital ( this happened years ago, at least 14 over another broken tooth when nerve would not freeze and whatever they gave me they could have cut my leg off and I would not have cared, I was flying but awake the whole time but no pain, it was not so nice when I was given the antidote after they finished I felt pain and dizzy and they would not tell me what they gave me, obviously frightened I would try and obtain it. I guess that is what addicts get when they say they get a great buzz and are flying. I found it ok at the time but never have been tempted to repeat the experience and not sure they will able to give me it now, whatever it was, with being on the Oxycontin - certainly no buzz from that). Not quite sure why I passed out, not something I usually do when they bring chair up, but my old dentist and emergency one other week did not work with me flat on my back and at home I never lie flat on back because of neck problems so hopefully was just me not being used to it and blood rushing away from head to quickly.
Have got both my plastic grow houses up now and filled with tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and french beans - these now ready to go outside and put with wigwam but not decided yet where to put them - last year had them in three big pots in back garden with long canes in each forming the wigwam and they looked great when flowering but fruit cage is there now and not sure if putting them in side garden a good idea as they do advertise food is being grown there and hedges are a few years away from hiding it.
For anyone using a plastic greenhouse or grow-house if you can put pallets at bottom then large stones on the wood underneath this makes a great base and holds the greenhouse/grow-house in place. I have had a large plastic walk in greenhouse up for 6 years - have had to replace the cover, twice but the structure has stayed unmoved through storms and high winds. It has two large pallets as a floor and then gravel and large stones underneath, I have tied the metal structure of greenhouse to the pallets.. I am searching now for another small pallet - had one which is now in one grow-house but need one for the other one, so have just placed big stones over the metal struts on ground at moment and balancing pots on them just now.
Been out strimming round my beds today - grass badly needs cutting but I cannot start my petrol mower, its one with pull cord and son of course to busy to cut it and cannot afford to pay gardner to do it till next week - he has always said he would do the work and me pay him when able but I hate doing that, I prefer to only get thing done, or buy things when I have the money. Also made a start on front flower beds as all the spring flowers are now long dead and only have some Irises out there and grass of course grown up between the flowers and it looks awful now, but had to stop when only done a bit as its mainly overcast but warm but of course minute I went out sun was shining very brightly and hot, then I come in when cannot do any more and its overcast again.......
Right totally dry from shower and rested so going to sort out something for tonight's meal., don't feel like cooking at all - oh gosh sun has come out to play again after a couple of hours of it being so gloomy, but sky still grey looking for all the sunshine.
Madartha again I totally adore the soaps........

Oh dear, would be better if he actually did something about the problem than just talk about it, so far we have never had rats, but then always having JRTs does have its uses - mind you they have been known to watch a field mouse run across living room floor, but rats nope, years ago during a bin strike rubbish was dumped on the fields by us and so I ended up taking our, then one JRT round everyone's gardens getting her scent there and she caught a few rats, although even then we never saw one, but once she had been in the garden no rats were seen there again. This same dog when lying with back legs not working managed to kill a field mouse that came within her reach, she was of the old type, if its small and moves it dies, my present lot are more of the live and let live persuasion, or just to plain lazy to run after them, although youngest as she is getting old seems to be gaining hunting skills - she is daughter of our old dog, so taken its time( 13 now) but her mums skills are at last appearing, we have nests of field mice in shed every winter and odd ones will venture into house.
Right better move and see what falls out of freezer
