:rotfl: Byatt - that was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek post, only his mum ever thought he had a face to die for, his charms lie in other directions! I am intrigued to know what you thought he looked like! And I did get kidney pain for a while, a sort of stabbing, nagging pain don one side, with a bit of a dragging feeling. I think it was gravel passing through, quite unpleasant but nothing like the colic.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Thanks for that Stiltwalker I will get a couple of plants then. If I do end up with loads of them, will the excess freeze? or am I better off looking to combine them in a chutney with the masses of tomatoes I am bound to produce!
:rotfl:
We eat masses of courgettes so never really have much of an excess but it does freeze really well as ratatoille and that will do nicely as either a side dish or pasta sauce or in a veggie lasagne. TBH never tried freezing any other way. I have also made a ratatoille chutney which I think was a WI recipe and it was really nice on top of a pork chop with cheese on top and back under the grill.0 -

I know it was tongue in cheek :rotfl:but I still agree with it.
You know how it is, a person becomes a mixture of people you know, when you haven't seen them before, but I thought he would look much older and have grey hair and would be shorter...and not so jolly...:rotfl:0 -
Well if he had any, his hair would be grey :rotfl:. He is tallish, 5ft 11 and a half (that half is very important
) and he has his moments on the jollyness front - but can be a total pain when he sets his mind to it. He is sporting a very good tan at the moment (we both are), and that always makes a difference to how you look! When we met he was 23 and looked about 43 - luckily he has looked he has grown into his age and is not doing too bad for 52!

:j The runner beans (planted Tues) are starting to emerge. I can just glimpse the curved top of the stem on a couple of them as they breach the compost. I love how runners hook up, lift their heads and then straighten and unfold.
Went back to the lottie for 1.5 hours and bumped into a lottie neighbour not seen for a week or so. Nice to catch up. I have watered a few things and got the grass shears out and attempted to make hay while the sun shines *groan*. Got some very fine pasturage at the mo if anyone wants to bring a Holstein-Fresian over for half an hour.:D
Came home, self in bath and clothes in washer as will have to get up and impersonate an office lady for most of tomorrow. Reckon it's been in the high twenties here today, love it lots.
Ooofff, need more tea. Or a gallon of Pimms.......hmmmm there's a thought..........Laters GQ x
ETA Thanks Mrs Chip, I have been eating those self-sown chard seedlings as salad today (leaves are about 3 inches long) and they're great. I pulled them up by the root and chucked them in a bowl of cold water in the kitch and they are keeping beautifully crisp.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Glad you have a doctors appointment Byatt, if the pain gets bad though head to A&E. I've been thinking of you all night. I know what you mean about not being able to figure out which pain is what though, I'm hit by that regularly.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Morning everyone
Sorry to disappear, but typically for me, I've managed to come down with the lurgy and have a summer cold. I feel like I should paint a cross on the front door and wear a bell around my neck. I was worried that DS1 had come down with it, but thankfully it just seems to be his hayfever. He has 3 exams this week so not the time to be suffering from this.
Byatt I hope you are feeling better this morning and that your doctor finds it is something easy to sort. It sounds like your Jubilee celebrations are more exciting than ours. We are having a tea party/Sports Day at a friend's house. They have a big gazebo so we will be protected from the English weather.
What are everyone else's Jubilee plans?
DH is on a mission this morning to sort out Barclays. After doing so well last week they sent us Amazon vouchers that expired the day before we got them and for unspecified amounts. Fingers crossed it is easily sorted.
My plan for today is to dose myself up with numerous drugs and to work out what to make with leftover pulled pork before DS2 eats it all. I caught him eating it for breakfast this morning.
Fingers crossed this doesn't all appear in bold
Take care xxxxx0 -
SDG It's usually me who gets ill in summer - used to be flu and bronchitis and chest infects every year. God knows why! still do but not so bad now.
Our weather is to change tonight so that was probly summer 2012 been & gone
I have to admit I don't even know when this jubilee thing is! (being a more republican rebel nationalist downright awkward wee sod of a granny):D - but it is nice to see streets and neighbours pulling together and having parties etc.
Off to the fabulous exotic world of streetlights and pavements and the dizzy excitements of Sainsbugs now. In other words... SWEETIE DAY! :rotfl:0 -
Good morning everyone. Just catching up on the shenanigans from over the weekend and saying a quick hello as I'm terribly busy. Nothing exciting just a house like a refuse yard - how does that happen when you spend the weekend in the great outdoors!0
