I once was flashed at by a pimply youth (I was in my twenties then) - it was raining lightly and I was carrying a rather smart umbrella with a pointy spike on the end as was the fashion in those days.
I lowered the brolly, spike forwards, and raised an eyebrow. He fled, fumbling to put his sorry little bits away as he went :cool:I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I was flashed at when I was in the fourth year at senior school, was so surprised I just stood there laughing at him:rotfl:....it was sooooo small.£71.93/ £180.000

Morning from the hot windy place - last night strong gusts actually caused some damage around, my poor new growhouse, fruit cage and some pots were among the casualties but I got off lightly as some people have lost a chimneys, roof tiles, walls, odd tree yet its such a hot wind, really weird and still blowing away now - not got out yet so will have to check our roof.
Son has got himself a temporary flat, a friend has let him move into his place - he has bought a house and couldn't decide whether to sell the flat or rent it but it needs work before either so been sitting empty so he can use it for next few months until he can sort out something more permanent, got to admit I breathed a sigh of relief when he told me. He now though is 5 mins walk away from me so he moved in on Thursday and as no furniture is using my fridge and freezer so in and out like a yo yo - but he has bought a microwave. He doesn't even have a bed but we have a big double blow up one, it has two separate blow up mattresses so when made up looks just like a normal bed and as high so that at least gives him something to sleep on. There is an old couch still in the flat so at least he has something to sit on. So going to ask on freecycle for him for bits and bobs like fridge, freezer etc but they are like gold dust people always putting wanted ads for them, but will try.
Grandson was all excited last night when they came to pick up some bits going to stay at daddy's, to him its a big adventure, he had taken his sleeping bag and camping bits.
Hospital yesterday for bladder and to have lots of different tests and was told I was a 'very lucky' as the Consultant herself wants to to them, as usually its the specialised nurses who do them and everything else. Consultant just takes on a few patients herself which she feels are a bit odd ( well that fits me perfectly). Nurse actually had note of awe in her voice when she told me - she had seen me and discussed everything taking copious notes for about an hour then had a word with doctor about whether she agreed with what she thought - that I needed these tests. Its the neurological link I think that is what is what makes in an 'interesting case' as like the rest of my body bladder works great one day then as does it own thing others, so tests to rule out anything physically wrong first then we will see. Have to go to a totally difference hospital that is a much further from us, but one of my nieces lives by it and she has already invited us for dinner that night when she heard we will be so near, be lovely to see her and her children so that is end of next month.
Oh well I guess I better get out of my pit - looks like one with dogs sprawed all over it and duvet all messed up and toddle downstairs and sort out what we will eat tonight ( have to dig down below sons pile of pizzas in the freezers) and repair the damage to bits and bobs in garden.

Smiley, it would have intimidated me, mainly because as GQ says, it is a precursor usually to more serious crimes and the fact you were in a park, alone is scary. Good for you thought for behaving as if it didn't bother you and better still fro phoning the police straight away. The fact he wasn't afraind of the dogs is also a concern. My Bess is very protective and although she seems very placid if I was attacked she would go for the person and her bite is very much worse than her bark. Hugs.
Softtouch I would love some Japanese recipes please...
Mccolloch, thanks for letting me know about the trike. I would love to have one. Remember happy days as a child belting down hills on one. I never had a bike, and odn't know why. Odd.
Mardy, can you PM me your fleabay user name, I am sure you will do well, people still like to have a treat and your soaps are stunning.
edit, I am getting stuff sorted for a boot sale tomorrow, my first and probably last of the season. It's like moving day here as I am trying to be utterly ruthless, and not hang on to stuff that I don't need, clutters the place up etc...it's partly a psychological process too, anyone watch hoarders on tv? Well I'm not that bad, but could be, so trying to take myself in hand now! Never used to be like this. Needless to say it's due to the trauma of the last 7 years, but knowing that and being proactive is another thing, onwards and upwards though.0 -
For anyone looking for panko for Softstuff's latest recipe, Tesco do them in the Ingredients section - £1-50 I think.
Lovely and sunny again - left the greenhouse open all night and it didn't drop below 15C in there. Quite breezy as well so not too enervating walking pup or pottering about in the garden. Lunch outside I think.

SGD only good thing is now you can get to choose new things, I just hope you didn't loose to much info. I was guilty of not backing up till last week when laptop was barely working as only had 8GBs out of 450GB so found wilkos do 10 dvds for £1.99 so bought lots of them - do have a couple of external hardrives but they are full ( and one is a terabyte? , its the audiobooks its amazing how much space they take up) and also the cable has twice in past year broken for one which meant could not access any info so will get another external but think from now on will back everything up on disc as well even though takes up more space.
I was flashed once age 11 - was coming through park with 4 year old sister from my grandma's ( she lived at one end of park and us another, a very big park) I just remember he was wearing a brown donkey jacket and a shirt now, at time I was able to describe him. In my innocence then I didn't realise he was doing anything wrong as I was big sister to two little brothers as well and so a boy pulling his pants down didn't mean much and he was standing among bushes so saw his top half clearly than bottom, just continued on our way and got home and told mum and wondered why she got into a flap and police came and I had to give description. He was caught that day, but was recognised by adult woman so I was not called to the case, he got 7 years then.
Phew its hotter out there than rest of week, I was soaking by the time I sorted grow house and fruit cage as back is always a sun trap in summer - patio thermometer at moment reads 42C in the sun ( not checked shade temp yet), it has sun shining onto it from just after mid-day till 2.30pm then it becomes dappled as moves behind trees at bottom left of my garden and next doors till about 6 when shines brightly again once clear of the trees. Still really windy but gusts seemed to have died down a lot.
Dogs are all lying full stretch on bed enjoying the fan which is on full blast and barely making a dint in the temp and my room is front of house which sun leaves by 11.30am so in shade as it faces East. Fan is a 4ft tower one I bought last year and so quiet, much better than old round one that was noisy.
Well better go and see if second lot of washing is finished and if so hang it out.
Hugs and love to all

Oh dear, I now have a nasty pain over my right kidney.
Started yesterday as a slight twinge and now it's increasing to crampy pains. I don't understand it, I have completed my anti-biotics, all tests came back fine, and now this. This time it's definitely over the kidney area whereas before it was lower down and into the hip.

Probably best to check with your out of hours service. They can ask you some questions and decide whether you need to see someone, and make suggestions as to how to get comfortable.
When I had a bad kidney infection I got terrible pain in the same area afterwards, and was convinced it had come back, but it turned out to be muscle pain, possibly triggered by the pain from the infection.0 -
Byatt, I do hope you can get a trike. They are fantastic.
The one I have now was a competition prize, sadly the firm that made it is no longer in business. Pashley is the main UK manufacturer, though they are terrifically expensive. I've also read many reports of their products failing (front forks breaking away from frame 9/10 times) and Pashley flatly refusing to accept liability.
My local cycle shop sells a product made in the Far East, one of which has 24'' wheels - mine are 20'' and it's the only complaint I have about mine, that I can never cover ground as quickly as I'd like as a result of smaller wheels than a conventional bike. Usually a 20'' would be unsuitable for someone of my height (5'9'') but mine is so well-designed that it's fine.
Edit: Please do get your kidney pain seen to. It's horrendous, no pain like it - I used to suffer badly until I had an op to correct a congenital malformation.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
SDG - so sorry to hear about your burglary - hope you are starting to feel a little better.
Had a spendy day today as WTC owed us money so we treated ourselves to a sofa bed from Ikea - we've been talking about getting one for a while so my parents can stay with us sometimes will be nice if OH' brother and sister in law come up they can come to us for a meal and stay over so no-one has to draw the short straw and drive. Had a bit of a to-do as when we ordered it in the store we were quoted £25 for delivery and then when we went to organise delivery we were told £60  I was ll set to cancel the order and get our money back as the online delivery was only £35 but a very nice chap sorted it all out for us so kudos for customer services there. Also got a new rug as DD has had one 'little accident' too many on the old one  and it is totally lush and squishy! We also had to order a new bedstead as ours collapsed this morning (no not that you mucky minded lot!) it's been dodgy since we moved as OH had to 'convince it' to come apart! but managed to get one off Tesco with our double up vouchers so it only cost £17 in real money. Think I might have to sit down and have a stiff drink now after splashing that much cash in 1 day though. Have to say a sunny day is the best time to go to Ikea as it as really quiet!0
