sdg it is the kind of worry I do need and probably everyone else. It is so easy to go out or to bed and leave a window open. My mother left a downstairs sash window open a crack because the paint had not dried and we were burgled during the night. The man was eventually caught and he had done 4 houses that night. He got 4 years. Many months later mum was checking down the sofa sides and found an empty meat tin and a fruit tin so we assume the burglar had a feed whilst at our house.

Have a dodgy hug SDG :grouphug:

Molly41, I hadn't even thought of the toilet issue and dungarees, thank God you reminded me before I got some  Had I been wearing them this morning when I was having a bad turn.... yikes. My stomach is perhaps not going well enough for those either.

I hope your ebay shop goes well Mardatha, you make some lovely soaps, I took a look just.

Hubby was making a cup of tea and a second mug stress fractured. An audible crack and boiling water everywhere again. And this was a mug we'd tested with boiling water after the first one had done it. Y'know you wait and save up for a good matching set, and unlike my 25p charity shop mugs (that I sent back there after we got the new ones) they don't even hold water :rotfl: So, most likely we'll be out to buy a few cheapies tomorrow and bang goes the set. It's the first set I've had that has committed suicide before I could kill it.

SDG, take care, the shock may come out over the next few days.

I have to say, your experience has stopped me from cancelling my home inusrance. I was looking at ways to cut back and considered it, but even though I don't have much, it would be hard to replace.

Anyway, take care of yourself. xxx

I found out that our local foodbank has managed to get some premises which are very easy to get to for me when I am on the way home from Aldi. (I would normally just drop something in the collection points in supermarkets but they haven't had those for a while round us). So I filled a carrier bag with bits and pieces while I was there and dropped it off. It was the first time I had actually been to see it in operation. It was pitiful to see how low their stocks were - and Friday is a busy day for them. God knows how bad it must be in Greece.
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Unfortunately it isn't even just open windows - we live on an estate of relatively new houses (about 15 yrs) and every house has double glazing. A few weeks ago there were 2 break-ins, both houses with a secluded side, where the occupants were out, with the living room windows smashed. I didn't even realise you could break double glazing so it shows how much I know.

I use so much milk. If it goes up well I guess we'll cope, we always do but - ah just bludy but.

I've spent the morning cleaning out the car as DH called to say he has found a garage that buys them in the next town. We won't get much for it but that doesn't matter as I just want rid because the road tax is due in June. Such an expensive luxury to have out there just in case. I can manage without it. Getting the kids on washing the outside later :D

My letter for my counselling came today. I'm to chat about all the things from the past that are effecting me then work on some CBT. I'm scared but looking forward to ridding of demons and learning different ways of coping. The reason I'm telling you is I was afraid I would need to take two bus journeys every week to get there with a major expense to accompany it. I am so relieved I can go to my village doctors to do it so free. I don't know about the locals seeing me all bleary eyed mind you but, small negative I guess.
  • FUDDLE - it's probably been said before but I always use powdered skimmed milk in cooking as it is so very much cheaper and doesn't go off. Just reconstitute the amount you need and you really cannot taste the difference. Mr.T recently had thier packets on offer at £1,15p that leaves the fresh stuff for whem you need it for tea, cereal etc. It might make a bit of difference to having the price go up on us! Cheers Lyn x.

MrsLurcherwalker is only ever use powered skimmed milk when I'm making rice pudding, the rest of the time it never enters my head. Thank you for that, it's stored and will pop out at me the next time I go to pour half pint for such and such sauce. Thank you :)

For all I adore my puppy there's some time I could scream. It's my fault really as he could reach it but I didn't think he would be bothered by it as it wasn't food! He's only gone and pulled the plug down off the iron and chewed it right off. DH bringing a new plug home but I'm not hopeful as it was enclosed and wrapped in cord.

My iron is the only thing that I pay a bit more for as I have to iron a lot of things. I haven't that sort of money right now so I hope he can fix it as I don't want to buy a cheap one because I know I would hate it. Feeling sorry for myself now. How pathetic eh? An iron.

Sorry about your burglary SDG - what a bl00dy thing to happen

DD just came home from school in tears. A surprise leavers assembly this afternoon and that's it - she has LEFT school  I think it was the shock of it all being so sudden that upset her - she is OK now. Mind she has left school but still has to go in on Monday first thing as she has a lesson she is yet to do the exam in - not sure how that works? It does mean she can come and go as lessons and exams dictate rather than just hanging about in many lessons.

Am loving this weather - I could get used to it. Washing drying on the line and a barbecue this evening

I have 2 weeks where I don't have to go in to work as I have tons of marking - but a long train ride with it tomorrow (to visit dad who is STILL in hospital - it's been 4 months now, and there isn't really anything wrong with him except they are saying he has to be able to walk up 2 steps before they can let him go and he can't yet). Any road up 5 hours of marking on a train should get through some of it, leaving me more gardening time next week.

Nearly finished my summer skirt - £20 saved on what I was going to pay for one. And more saved if I were to make more than one!
I wanna be in the room where it happens
